I got a VIZIO 37" I have Direct with a HD receiver.
What are the best settings that go with this. I have a HMD1 cable.
What is the best contrast, blacklight ect settings.
Any other tips are need to do?

If there's a Movie mode, you might start off in that mode and make adjustments from there. On some sets the movie mode can make for a dim looking picture, but usually edge enhancement and other 'enhancement' processing are turned off, or at least reduced. You can then adjust contrast, brightness, etc for your particular environment.
