season when Warner Home Video releases ER: The Complete Eighth Season DVD on January 22, 2008 for $49.98. Originally airing in 2001 & 2002, the eighth season of the riveting medical drama is packed with excitement, suspense, joy and grief.

Created by best-selling author Michael Crichton, the award winning series is drama at its best every Thursday night. ER: The Complete Eighth Season welcomes two new faces to Trauma One, Army Reservist Michael Gallant (Sharif Atkins) and the brash Gregory Pratt (Mekhi Phifer). As the new doctors become acquainted with County General, the veteran staff begins to contemplate their futures. Dr. Benton weighs career and family, Dr. Chen defies his demotion and Dr. Greene fights what could be his last battle with cancer. As the tight group struggles with the loss of one of their own, one doctor steps up to the plate, Dr. Carter. Dr. Carter’s long time experience at County General helps him bring everyone together during the heart wrenching ordeal and allows the team to grieve while still keeping the ER in check.

You wonder what the hold up is.
Here in Australia(as in Europe) we had Season 8 released on September 5th.
Season 9 is scheduled here in Oz for release On October 31st.
Art work appears to be the same.

The late date for S8's release is frustrating - it'll be eight months after S7 came out. (The new release date is my birthday, though, so the set will be a nice present for me at least.) I just hope they continue releasing two seasons a year until the end of the series.
