Its great that they are releasing it but I'll wait for the one without the 550 page storyboards. Hopefully that will drop it to an acceptable price.

$80? Ouch! Never cared much for Jin-Roh so I can easily pass on this but I'm not relishing the thought of being gouged when something I really want gets released like Akira, Ghost in the Shell, etc.

I'm even starting to imagine a $500 pricetag for a Cowboy Bebop box.

It won't be. Bandai Visual USA isn't Bandai, two totally different companies. In another interesting twist, Cowboy Bebop: The Movie is owned by Sony who is coming out with it on Blu-Ray 1/7 in the UK for ~$35, and it should be released in the US soon after.

$80 pricetag for this stuff, Bandai Visual USA is just hurting themselves. It will only be a matter of time before they price themselves out of business.

I love the idea of the collectors set including the 552 page storyboard book for the diehard fans (I bet the book alone is worth the $80) but it's a little steep for everyone else. Hopefully they'll release a disc only version along side the collectors edition.
