Jim. You have very much over-generalized what I have said before. DD+ is just fine for most releases, IMHO. Lossless is perferred with releases that warrant it. Twister's agressive soundtrack does.
BTW, the lack of lossless would not be a show stopper for me as it is for others, but would be nice to have.
There's some really dumb dialogue and idiotic moments in Twister but yeah, I'm all over it in HD. Owned the vhs, laserdisc, first dvd issue, and the SE.
Thomas I wasn't really picking on you it was just a general musing on my part.
Though I have to say that I will get a big hearty laugh now from anyone who demands lossless audio that was in that Transformers thread defending the non-lossless specs.
I agree with you Thomas, but true is, that such big modern blockbuster with "bombastic" soundtrack DESERVE DolbyTrueHD hmm.....
I am sure that DD+ will be great, but if the space or bandwith is not a problem, why on earth they are not adding lossless soundtrack :frowning:
I will be very glad if Twister will have one, because even older soundtrack can sound amazing, I think I have some DVD with DTS track on Twister, and it can give a run to my speakers
Transformers absolutely deserves it. It certainly will not stop me from buying it if it doesn't, but I would rather it did. I still don't understand the studios logic in which titles get lossless and which do not.
