Looks like Twister will finally be making it to HD and BD on 1/8/2008.

This movie was made for HD. Here's hoping for a lossless track and top notch mastering.:emoji_thumbsup:

I thought DD+ was "good enough" these days? Color me confused.

Anyhow, might pick this up from Warner seeing as how it'll probably be only about $15.

Pity they couldn't speed it up for the Christmas market ? Sound alone should be killer .

Jim. You have very much over-generalized what I have said before. DD+ is just fine for most releases, IMHO. Lossless is perferred with releases that warrant it. Twister's agressive soundtrack does.

BTW, the lack of lossless would not be a show stopper for me as it is for others, but would be nice to have.

There's some really dumb dialogue and idiotic moments in Twister but yeah, I'm all over it in HD. :D Owned the vhs, laserdisc, first dvd issue, and the SE.

Hey there is nothing like a big dumb popcorn movie with some quality actors in it who really know how to sell dumb dialogue.

I'll buy which ever format offers up the best audio option. Here's hoping for a lossless track, this film warrants it.

And transformers deserves.....? By all accounts it was a pretty agressive soundtrack too.

Exactly Dave. :D

Thomas I wasn't really picking on you it was just a general musing on my part.

Though I have to say that I will get a big hearty laugh now from anyone who demands lossless audio that was in that Transformers thread defending the non-lossless specs.

Yes I was taking names down.

You know, ever since Pearl Harbor on DVD had the Dolby Digital Head phone track, i've really been cravin' it.

SO you know, what.

Since this is next gen audio.

I might boycott untill I get Dolby's Headphone track on EVERY release.

Get the right receiver and every movie will be in Dolby Headphone. Just plug in your headphones and there you have it. :)

I agree with you Thomas, but true is, that such big modern blockbuster with "bombastic" soundtrack DESERVE DolbyTrueHD hmm.....

I am sure that DD+ will be great, but if the space or bandwith is not a problem, why on earth they are not adding lossless soundtrack :frowning:

I will be very glad if Twister will have one, because even older soundtrack can sound amazing, I think I have some DVD with DTS track on Twister, and it can give a run to my speakers ;)

Transformers absolutely deserves it. It certainly will not stop me from buying it if it doesn't, but I would rather it did. I still don't understand the studios logic in which titles get lossless and which do not.
