Are all the older Midnite Movies titles OOP?

I was just checking Amazon and most of them no longer seem to be available... why is this??

Except that Pharoah's Curse/Curse of the Faceless Man has been dropped from the schedule! Apparently problems with the print of the latter film. All the other forthcoming Midnites are widely available for pre-order, with covers on display, but this one never made it.

Yes, the previous Midnite Movies - the original single titles and the Double Features - are out of print.

Sadly, the Midnite range has a long history of going out of print fairly rapidly, it;s a great series which IMHO hasn;t been handled too well, with horrid Best Buy Exclusive deals, which at the end fell through, and even though most have been released twice, they did not stay in print long.

The Midnite range is not one to leave on a wishlist, it has a history of going OOP quite soon.

Are there any reliable sites that stock backordered titles of these or places where they can still be found?

Unfortunately, mine have been sitting on the wishlist and I missed out on a lot of great drive-in flicks that I'd love to own...

Isn't the Psych-Out and the Trip appearing on that Corman boxset? I know that's how they're putting out most of their Corman single releases into double-feature format like The Man with X-Ray Eyes and Wild Angels.

It's nice to get all of these titles but I wish the studios would realize that there is a market for classic horror/sci-fi titles in January as well as Halloween.

My top unreleased titles from MGM now would be Burn Witch Burn and Futureworld. Burn Witch Burn is a classic and Futureworld is a rare sequel that is nearly as good as the original.

The only way to get the old Midnites now is to wait until they get re-released as part of boxsets, like the Corman and Vincent Price ones due.

Sometimes you can find places with the odd title or two in stock - Amazon have some right now - but they are largely unavailable.

The titles on the Price set are: The Abominable Dr. Phibes/Tales of Terror/Theater of Blood/Madhouse/Witchfinder General/Dr. Phibes Rises Again/Twice Told Tales.

All are previous Midnites, except Witchfinder, which is also being released on it;s own this September.

The Corman set has:Bloody Mama/A Bucket of Blood/The Trip/X: The Man with the X-Ray Eyes/The Premature Burial/The Wild Angels/The Young Racers/Gas-S-S-S.

Again, all are previous Midnites, excluding Bloody Mama and (I think, not sure, I'm not into the non-horror ones) Young Racers. But these are NOT being released on their own.

I'd like to see them all come back into print as well. Box sets are not necessary - just make them available!

And the Corman set does not feature the two titles I mentioned. From what I understand, they are among the rarest of the OOP MM double features. They dissapeared from circulation almost as quick as they came out. Please get these box on retail shelves, Fox!

Boy, do I agree with that. It's so silly that everything comes out in September and October every year, and nothing the other ten months.

The Midnites didn't used to be "Halloween", as I recall, they tended to release at different times of the year.

And quite a lot of them weren't "horror" either.

It doesn;t bother me that we get a load of stuff before Halloween, it's a bit like having Christmas: The Prequel. :-)

I buy so much stuff, and my wish list is so long, I'm never short of things to get on disc anyway.

If there's a break my wallet takes a holiday and sends me thankyou cards.

Every time I cross something off the list, like a film, some studio will announce it;s releasing a TV series in ten boxsets or something!

Yes, I rather suspect that they printed up numbers based on the perceived "popularity" of the films. That's why the Vincent Price ones - like the Phibes films - aren't too hard to get, same for the better known Corman ones, such as the Poe adaptations.

But the biker movies and stuff like that, well, I guess they didn't do so many of those.

It also helps that before the last block of releases, there was a re-release of many of the Doubles, increasing the numbers.

I'm sure that MGM/Fox won;t miss the opportunity to put these into boxsets, if they think they can make a few more bucks out of them.

Lots of copies of Psych-Out/The Trip on Amazon MarketPlace, lowest price is $40 though.

Makes me glad that I picked up Psych-Out/The Trip from DeepDiscount back in January for $9.
BARBARA WRIGHT: You're from Earth?
MORTON DILL: No... no, ma'am, I... I'm from Alabama.

But PSYCH-OUT is butchered on the DVD. The old laserdisc is uncut. Might as well wait for a (hopefully) uncut re-release.

I was hoping to see a Dvd release of The Town That Dreaded Sundown. I've been waiting a long time for this one.
If you've got what it takes, sooner or later someone will take what you've got.
