Hi all,
With this technically being a thread about the film's presentation I decided to create this thread instead of it getting buried in one of the umpteen video threads.

It works like this: Blade Runner is one of my favorite films, and Oct. 5 is my 40th birthday. I live in NJ. Needless to say, I want to know how to go to this presentation in NYC. I assume this is going to be shown at the Ziegfeld, or maybe Radio City. If anyone can post info on this as it comes about, I'd appreciate it.

Here's the press release:

Blade Runner starts its run at the Ziegfeld on Friday (the 5th). Has anyone been able to get tickets? On the Clearview Cinemas Blade Runner page, there is a link to Buy Advance Tickets. The link goes to movietickets.com where you cannot buy tickets to anything at the Ziegfeld.

Yeah, these are the theatres:
Los Angeles: Landmark's "The Landmark"
New York: Clearview's Ziegfeld

If you live anywhere near these cities, please do the rest of us a favor and see Blade Runner. If these screenings are hugely successful, Warner Brothers will hopefully gain some sense and release it nationwide.

I'll be going tomorrow night with 5-7 friends, most of whom have never seen the film before.

"And now the reprimand, from an American critic. He reproaches me for using film as a sacred & lasting medium, like a painting or a book. He does not believe that filmmaking is an inferior art, but he believes, and quite rightly, that a reel goes quickly, that the public are looking above all for relaxation, that film is fragile and that it is pretentious to express the power of one's soul by such ephemeral and delicate means, that Charlie Chaplin's or Buster Keaton's first films can only be seen on very rare and badly spoiled prints. I add that the cinema is making daily progress and that eventually films that we consider marvelous today will soon be forgotten because of new dimensions & colour. This is true. But for 4 weeks this film [The Blood of a Poet] has been shown to audiences that have been so attentive, so eager & so warm, that I wonder after all there is not an anonymous public who are looking for more than relaxation in the cinema." - Jean Cocteau, 1932

Yes, 23rd near Eighth Ave. Is that where it's going after it finishes at the Ziegfeld this Thursday (10/18)?

I dont remember the dates, but I passed the theater 2 weeks ago and they had the poster up with dates on it. I dont remember the dates but I did say "fuck" to myself because I cant make any of them as my weekends are booked the next few weeks.

If youre interested,Id just give them a call and see when its scheduled to play there.

Thanks, just curious, because there's nothing about it at Clearview's website. I've already seen it at the Ziegfeld.

According to the latest update at Movietickets.com, the next NYC venue to get BR: The Final Cut will be the AMC 25 in Times Square, on Friday, Oct. 19.
