The Prisoner - 40th Anniversary Special Edition

The series itself needs no introduction, but our approach to it has been very different from previous issues. Further details will be released over the next few weeks but we can tell you that the series has been completely restored in high definition (a separate release in that format is scheduled for the end of the year) and contains an entirely new set of special features including a definitive 90 minute documentary and commentaries. There will also be an opportunity to preview a selection of the restored episodes on the big screen prior to release on Monday 1 October. More details and clips soon.

A HD release of the Prisoner would be very interesting. Posted Image

"Thanks to Network’s fresh and vastly improved edition, 'The Prisoner' can journey happily into the future."

Patrick McGoohan, August 2007

Yup, more details of the upcoming 40th Anniversary Edition at Network's site:

The documentary apparently runs for 90 mins & a future HD release is also planned by Network.
