Before considering upgrading

my current version, I need to know if the feature (not the extras) is anamorphic.

It is anamorphic. They meant that the 16:9 transfer is an "extra" over the previous transfer. Which sucked. Hard.

LOL, You got to love mainstream porn..

I have the old version. Really, Really bad video quality. I might think about getting the single disc, new, uncensored version. After all, it is the only porn I have. It should at least look good.

I wonder how much the main stars were told ahead of time about the "X"tra scenes that they were not in?

Yup, if any film could have negatives recently uncovered, this would be the one. I somehow suspect there are plenty more "covered negatives"...

edit: oscar, my experience is they typically count the CD as one of the discs, so I am guessing there are not 4 DVDs, if that's what you mean.

I watched when I was younger solely because of the rating... Now I actually enjoy this perverse gem.

I did not realize that Helen "The Queen" Mirren was in this until just now... It will be quite interesting rewatching it again with that in my head.

Would love to hear Helen and Roddy's audio commentary on this one. It may put to rest the story about whether the legit actors knew that they were making a porn film or not. A pity they weren't brave enough to include Gore Vidal in the extras, though. That would have been something.

Is that a real commentary, or just splicing in interview footage, because I can't see them, at this stage in their career, sitting down to watch it again. Mirren has openly said she only did it because it paid her enough to buy her house.

Yeah, but that dance she does in the movie is something else! This film help cement her reputation as an actress willing to drop her clothing at a moment's notice, and considering that she's now a Dame with an Oscar should give hope to the likes of Kate Winslet.

Now let's get down (and dirty!) to the nitty gritty: how much more sex is added to the film, anyway?

She had MUCH more nudity in Savage Messiah, a 4 minute completely nude scene(I have a original VHS copy I got from a mom& pop store that went under)and Age of Consent (lots of topless)

Commentaries and a possible alternate longer cut? Id prob pick this up.

Frankly, if it's an actual commentary of Mirren and McDowell talking about the film while they're watching it, that alone should be worth the price of the set.

I'm wondering what "Alternate pre-release version of the film with never-before-seen footage" actually is - it's listed as a featurette, which doesn't sound like a 3 hour+ version.

I'll only be tempted to pick this up if that is an actual commentary with Malc and Mirren. I've seen the film a couple times, and that was probably good enough for me.
