The Disclaimer
Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

"LP" in the RoundUp table means a store’s Sunday flyer says "Low Price". That means I could not locate a definite price for the item, and the ad is all I have to go on. Retailers use these phrases in advertisements so that they do not violate MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) agreements with the studios. Doing so can cost them thousands or even millions of dollars in co-op advertising funds.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, as always, Circuit City does not guarantee their sale prices in Hawaii.

The Specials

**BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL! Night At the Museum is available in both OAR and MAR versions...get the correct one!

Also, a new release of The Great Escape SE is listed on all my new release lists but I cannot find out anything about this release or how it compares to the 2004 two-disc SE.

And, this week’s release of Rome Adventure (1962) is one of those Hong Kong imports released on Castaway Pictures.

And, this week’s release of WKRP in Cincinnati: Season 1 is rife with music replacement. Buy at your own risk/discretion. Posted Image

Does anyone know if 10 Items or Less is a good film. I really like the other Brad Silberling movies, but I don't know much about this one. Thanks.

I've been looking forward to WKRP for literally years! But, alas, due to obvious reasons, I'll have to pass on this one.

Both the Target and K-Mart circulars have coupons for a $10 gift certificate with the filling of a new or transfer of an existing prescription in their pharmacy. They come in handy when buying DVDs/DVD sets.

Thanks gents! Great job as always!

Fairly interesting week, with some titles that weren't really on my radar until I saw the RoundUp.

I will be picking up:

Harry & the Hendersons - My kids loved this movie as they were growing up and our old VHS copy is still kicking around here someplace. Could it be possible that this is the first ever DVD release of this film??

Parenthood SE - Another classic that I somehow managed to miss out on DVD until now.

The Odd Couple: Season 1 - Vintage Garry Marshall, and one of those rare TV series that surpasses the original play and film that inspired it.

Also, when I can catch it on sale for a better price somewhere down the road... Drew Carey Show: Season 1 - I think this show lost some of its creative edge in later seasons, but the first few seasons are inventive and FUNNY!

And Finally, as much as I would love to own it, I will take a big PASS on WKRP...

Is The Odd Couple a better deal than what Time/Life is doing? Did they come out all at once? How's the price comparison?

Thanks, guys. No definites this week, but I'll probably pick up Harry & the Hendersons and may get Odd Couple and Drew Carey S1s.
I believe it's identical to the Time-Life release except CBS/Paramount added a bonus disc with 5 non-S1 episodes, supposedly among the favorites of Tony and Jack. As for price comparisons, I'm not sure what T-L was charging for their set so I can't be of help there.

Thanks as usual.

The good news is that after weeks of nothing, something worth buying this week - Columbo

The terrible news is that a pile of syndicated, music-replaced, edited crap posing as one of my favorite shows of all time is out, virtually guaranteeing that we will never see the real version of WKRP. Posted Image

watching now. do you know anything about it? pretty good, a bit different. morgan freeman as "the guy in those ashley judd movies." i dont think he ever says his name. he is researching a role so he goes to a neighborhood market and hangs out with the checkout clerk. almost like a fake documentary. paz vega is the star of this movie. . . i wanted to get wkrp too but not gonna happen. i wonder if great escape is just a re issue myself.

Kinda surprising that Target didn't advertise many of the new TV sets that come out this week...their weekly "Cinema Red" newsletter shows that they are carrying "Odd Couple", "WKRP" (also being promoted on in-store signage) and "Flipper". I'll post pricing on Tuesday morning sometime....
