That's awesome. I'll be buying it just for the original, though i heard the remake was good too especially the cinematography.

I hope it's restored. A Volume 2 would now include:

-Romance
-Susan Lenox
-Inspiration
-As You Desire Me
-Conquest
-Two Faced Woman
-Garbo Silents Vol 2 with Love, The Single Standard, A Woman of Affairs, & The Kiss

I don't know how crazy that makes me, but my favorite Garbo film is Romance (30)...:)

Wait a minute- a GARBO film as a DVD 'extra'? What's up with that? It's the 2006 film that should be an 'extra' to the original!

You need not be offended. From everything I can gather, I am 99% certain Mr. Maxwell's information is totally erroneous. The 2006 remake will be released on its own, and the Garbo original is not part of that release. We'll all know the truth when discs finally hit reviewers hands, but there is no reference to the Garbo version on any DVD seller's website.

THE SEVENTH SIN (1957) is a CinemaScope adaptation of the Maugham novel with Eleanor Parker and George Sanders--directed by Ronald Neame and an uncredited Vincente Minnelli. It would make more sense to "pair" that with the Garbo.

I wrote Mr Maxwell and he replied...

All I can add is that the most recent advance information that WB
provided to me listed the 1934 version as a potential supplement on the
forthcoming disc of the 2006 remake. Whether that potential actually
materializes is something else. As you know, initial plans of this sort
don't always pan out. We did get the original Death Takes a Holiday with
Meet Joe Black when it was released, and if memory serves, we did get
the original Fredric March Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde when the Tracy
version was released. On the other hand, Fox's 1948 Anna Karenina disc
was to include the 1915 silent version, but it didn't show up on the
final product. Similarly, Warners promised the 1922 silent version of
the Prisoner of Zenda as an inclusion with its release of the 1937 and
1952 sound versions, but that didn't happen. So we will just have to
wait and see.
