Going down the blu-ray route via the PS3 in the UK and (as usual) I'm envious of the US catalog compared to what we have in the UK.

Obviously the PS3 will not be region free (if Sony's DVD players are anything to go by), so before I import, I was wondering which studios do not currently region code.

For example, I heard Warners don't.

Fox and Disney are the only two that have region coded all of their releases. Warner and Paramount don't code any of theirs. Sony has only coded one that I know of (Monster House). The upcoming Casino Royale is all-region.

Look at this site which has some of the best info.

Ah. This is good news, as I was originally writing off the UK Superman Returns with uncompressed PCM due to Blu-ray region coding.

Actually, I don't think Buena Vista (Disney) is region coding catalog releases. The link you provided shows several of their titles as region-free.

Hmmm. I stand corrected. This is good news. Just quickly glancing over the list, it looks like the catalog titles they released last year have region coding, but the ones released in the last few months do not. This would lead me to believe that they are only region coding new releases now. I hope this holds up!

the problem is :) that we have no info, if it will be same with ALL catalog titles :) one have to buy and check title if there is region coding or not...., because on the back cover you have mark "A" like titles not working - Enemy of the state, Eight below, Gone in 60seconds....

and I hope too, that all catalog titles released this year will be region free (even with mark "A" on back cover)
