Departed has dropped the promo montage at beginning, and goes straight into movie! The SD version is highly compressed! Artifacts abound. Universal drops pricing for new combos to $34.99, and catalog to $28.99. Some covers for Universal titles have a terrible open flap which stays open!

This is good news, that promo has started to get annoying. Reminds of that other old annoying ...'Are you ready for FOX DVD...' promo.

What catalog combos have been announced at $29? I've heard of catalog titles previously announced as combos getting a price drop, but the information indicated that they were no longer combo discs.
Jay's Movie Blog - A movie-viewing diary.
Transplanted Life: Sci-fi soap opera about a man placed in a new body, updated two or three times a week.
Trading Post Inn - Another gender-bending soap, with different collaborators writing different points of view.

I've seen Universal catalog titles such as Seabiscuit, Red Dragon, Fast & the Furious 1 & 2, Fear & Loathing in Las Veags, The Rundown etc. drop to $27.99 CAD at most B&Ms. A lot of these had previous stickered prices of $32-$36 each. The Departed combo is on sale at BB and FS here in Canada for $32.99!

These flaps are not required to keep the case closed and are easily removable.

Our best buy only had 3 HD-DVD copies and people went out in the blizzard to get them before 3 PM.

If these are the flaps I'm thinking of, just fold them in and close the case normally.

I got to our Best Buy (out side of philly) and I was surprised by two things. #1 - Best Buy had the HD-DVD of the Departed right out front in the New Releases section (no Blue Ray) #2 - They were sold out of it. When I asked about it was told that they got 10 or so in and that they were all gone by lunch time. #3 - I went to another Best Buy closer to my house and was able to pick up the 2nd to last copy for $22.99, $24.37 with tax
