Double meaning?

Anyway, please decapitalise the I to i, in terms of correct spelling - it's not an AV brand or clothing item. grin.

Better still, drop it altogether as Apple has done.

Didn't apple only drop the "computer" ? It's still Apple Inc. . isn't it?

What do you guys suggest we call the area? Please refrain from
any silly suggestions and support the one good suggestion that
gets posted so it saves me from having to wade through posts
for the answer we need.

All things APPLE?
APPLE Paradise?

Simply "Apple" will do, unless you want to split into Macs and other Apple stuff like iPods etc. eventually.

ps. what screen/monitor are you using with your Mac?

I'd rather have Macintosh in there if possible.
However, I'll bow to group pressure if everyone
is fine with that.

I am driving a 30" Dell Monitor.

I believe the point is that Apple officially spells it "Macintosh" with a lowercase I, in part to avoid confusion with the hi-fi folks at McIntosh.

So "Apple and Macintosh" would be fine, especially if you want to include talk about iPods and AppleTV and iPhones. Or if you just want computers, given this is a subcategory of Computers and HTPC, then "Apple Macintosh" or even just "Macintosh" or "Mac". Unless you're from another planet, it's pretty obvious what the category is for.

Widescreen monitor I assume? Just checking, because part of the experience is the actual visuals. Most PCs have really poor looking screens.

So long as it is spelled corectly, I'm happy.

Right, it is Macintosh, not MacIntosh. You know, kind of like calling this Home Theater Forum, not HoMe ThEaTeR FoRuM.

Just discussing Macs would be cool, however, once you get an iPod, you find that it does integrate and sort of become one with your Mac. You may have issues or questions with iTunes or your iPod, and an Apple/Mac subforum is the place where those questions would make the most sense (rather than Music subforum). Also, peripherals for Macs are just so much more closely tied in than Windows (because of the closed nature of the platform) that discussing those types of things are really tied in to a Mac subforum. Just my thoughts.

Regardless of what you do decide to call and include in it, I'd like to take credit for being the first one to inquire about the creation of the subforum in this post :D

Haha, others like me have been calling for a Mac forum since 1999. Good things come to those who wait. This place will be full when the iPhone is released, let alone the Apple TV.

Tough, I'm still claiming it! :D

As someone who has sworn off of cell phones (never owned one), even I have to admit the iPhone is tempting. I do want to wait for 3G iPhone (video telephony is just too cool to pass up), so if Apple creates a touchscreen iPod I might hold off on the 1st version of the iPhone and just go touchscreen iPod.

Apple TV, once they release a 1080p version, will be very, very tempting for me as well...

I changed the spelling for Macintosh yesterday morning. I don't know if you are seeing a cached page or what but the name has been changed.
