A heads-up to fans of 1960s TV-- a number of retailers, including Deep Discount DVD, DVD Empire and DVD Pacific are now taking pre-orders for I DEAL IN DANGER (1966), which was a theatrically-released feature made from a few episodes of the 1966 WWII espionage TV series, THE BLUE LIGHT, starring Robert Goulet.

Here's a link to TV.com's page on the series:

While I'd like to see a complete series set of THE BLUE LIGHT released, this is certainly better than nothing.

Looks like Fox is releasing it on April 24, 2007.

Interesting news. I got all of the 17 episodes of the show when they ran on FoxNet in the early 90s. It was a bit of a surprise to me as I had never seen the show in it's original ABC airing and it really is an exciting series. Another show from that era, The Man Who Never Was, had 2 movies made from it's episodes. I just transferred one to DVD and that was also a well-made, interesting show.

Oldies.com is offering "I Deal in Danger" for $6.98 plus shipping. Apparently, this remains the only legitimate release of episodes from "The Blue Light" series.
