Finding Neverland was my #2 film for 2004 just barely barely under Million Dollar Baby. It is coming to US Blu Ray this spring but since I don't have a BD player....I might have to get the HD-DVD import.

Is there a way to disable the subtitles on these? Posted Image

I'm wondering why Finding Neverland would be a BD release, since it should be controlled by The Weinstein Co. @ this point.

Following my above post

France

Zidane: A 21st Century Portrait (Zidane : portrait du 21ème siècle) 20 Euros
amazon.fr

A great transfer but no English subtitles (not really that great an issue as there are no spoken lines and a few subtitles). Football (soccer) has rarely looked this good and is highly recommended for fans.

UK

La Haine £20 (£15 online) play.com/amazon.co.uk

A great black and white transfer.

The Miramax library stays with Buena Vista. They didn't get to take the catalog with them when forming The Weinstein Company.

Near as I can tell, nothing in Japan has English subtitles unless it was in English to begin with. Ticks me off, because I would have been all over a few titles (such as Shinobi: Heart Above Blade) otherwise.
Jay's Movie Blog - A movie-viewing diary.
Transplanted Life: Sci-fi soap opera about a man placed in a new body, updated two or three times a week.
Trading Post Inn - Another gender-bending soap, with different collaborators writing different points of view.

For OLD BOY, I didn't include due to lack of English subs...

I believe that RAN also does not include English sub's but will wait for that to be confirmed....

The information about the Japanese releases without English subtitles is correct which is a shame. I would have like to have Oldboy, the Uninvited, Shinobi, and Volcano High on HD DVD.

Tim, yes you can disable the subs.

The French Studio Canal version of Ran will not have English subtitles but the Optimum release in the UK will.
