Hi Brian, Currently the studios have opted to not restrict hi-def signals over component so you'll be fine in that department. Does your receiver have 5.1 analog inputs? With firmware updated to version 2.0, the Toshiba HD-A1 (Tosh's first-gen player) will decode Dolby True HD (lossless audio) over 5.1 analog. Since Toshiba's next gen HD-DVD players have hit the market, the HD-A1 can be had for under $300 at this point. Probably cheaper if you do a little digging. Hope this helps.
The Star Wars Special Editions: Just 'cause you can, don't mean you should.

Hi and tanks for the input! Yes my B&K rf 50 has the inputs, but space is at a premium in my diy rack so I would like a new smaller player Thanks Briantj
