Hi All, It's time to get a new receiver. From my reading and from how I use my receiver (50% DVD and 50% music from the iPod hook up, DVD player or radio) it looks like the Pana SA-XR57 is a good buy for me. I do plan on hooking up an old tape deck to it, but that is going to be for future tape to CD conversion. I have a 5.1 system with Mirage Omnis and no real desire to take it to 6.1 or 7.1. Anyway, I've done the usual searching on the web for good prices and the likes of Amazon, etronics, vanns, J&R are all about the same price (280-300). Is there anywhere else I should check out? Thanks!

Both J&R and Vanns are good vendors. If you're trying to save a few more $$, then you'll probably have to deal with a vendor who isn't as reliable. Also, don't forget to check the "for sale" area, because you can find an older XR55 for a great price.
