Like the rest of the WalMarts, my local 2 have started to sell the system on the 8th. Being a total observer of this next generation battle (I don't care what happens), I thought it was interesting that the biggest WalMart (supercenter) received only 5 units of the system and 4 were still there at 4pm Thursday afternoon. Whether people just didn't know about it or what, I don't know. But, the PS2 sold out in like 10 min. at this same store and they had 20 units.
Also, I found it interesting that my local (smaller) WalMart told me that they had been told to expect 40 units of GameCube to arrive sometime early next week.

Can anyone confirm Walmarts are selling?

Mine aren't, but no one in this town ever breaks street date.

Austin is not selling before the date either. If I were you I would pick some up and put them on EBAY.
