I was in Ultimate Electronics this weekend and saw the new Mitsubishi Diamond series dlp tv's. I love the picture this tv had but I wanted to know if any others on here had the new model and what their thoughts were. If anyone has either the 57, 61, or 73 inch versions of the Diamond series could you give me a little feedback on this tv.

I have never owned a Mitsubishi so i have no idea how well their products are constructed or how their customer service department is. If someone could give me any info I would greatly appreciate it.

hi
Mits makes a good dlp set.
I have found that they require regular cleanings otherwise they will quickly build up a dust layer on the mirror and lense that will adversely affect the black level (and overall crispness).
The contrast ratio number on all of these displays is meaningless.

Gregg

what is regular cleanings? once a month, 3 months, 6 months, a year?

Can I do this or do I need a proffesional?

every 6 months is great.
I do it everytime I do a calibration or touch up service (annually).
It is fairly easy to do...you have to remove the front bezel / screen.
I am pretty sure that entering the cabinet would void the warranty.

Hi,

I just bought the WD-57831, have not opened yet since I'm moving in a week, but the display at the store was amazing. I was just curious to see if you are still happy with your purchase. I got mine for $2,500 to include free Harmony 659 remote at Vanns.

I'm also interested to know if you have it hooked up to a PC.

Thanks,

Marcus

Thanks Ben, and I'm glad you don't have buyer's remorse! What is your setup. Do you have everything going to a receiver, and then to the TV. Or do you have all your video sources hooked-up straight to the TV and a digital audio out to the receiver?

Thanks,

Marcus
