For Blu-Ray:

Quote:
With only two weeks to go until street date, Lionsgate has postponed its third wave of Blu-ray titles, which were originally due in stores October 17.

All four titles -- 'American Psycho,' 'First Blood,' 'Saw II ' and 'Young Guns ' -- have been yanked by the studio until at least "early 2007."

And not to leave the HD users out:

It ain't easy being green for 'Hulk,' as Universal has postponed his planned November HD DVD debut indefinitely, with no new date announced.

Shit! Posted Image
I was really looking foward to seeing that one.

Word is Lionsgate is jumping on HDDVD and American Psycho is one I was hoping for as well.

Except HD digest was a bit late with the LionsGate news.

The Digital Bits reported it on the 15th, which would make it more than a month before street date. Rumor is they're being delayed for VC-1 and/or more features (BD50?).

I wouldn't mind seeing more delays is it for the purpose of enhancing the releases.

My best guess is waiting for more copy protection. (no more 1080 over component).
"Did you know that more people are murdered at 92 degrees Fahrenheit than any other temperature? I read an article once. Lower temperatures, people are easy-going, over 92 and it's too hot to move, but just 92, people get irritable."

Not likely when it was previously announced that there would be no use of the chip preventing 1080 over component until at least 2008. The studios know this would kill the new formats faster than anything else.
