Now THIS is my recording media of choice -

Then again there's also Holographic disc. It'll launch with 300 Gig discs this year and grow to over a terabyte.

Both HD DVD and Bluray are more suited to pre-recorded media ie for movies.

But holographic will spank them both (including the much touted BD-Rs) on capacity - holographic is for my recordings and archiving.

HD DVD is for my prerecorded movies.

rwiiight. you have $15,000 for the recorder and hundreds of dollars per media?

it's going to be a while, but if they really went with holo discs... that'd be one UNIFIED physical format =).
