I got my EW fall TV issue and here's what I'm planning to catch and why:

NEW SHOWS
- Brothers and Sisters: Curious to see how Flockhart has held up.

- Heroes: Can't resist a comic book premise.

- Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip: Amanda Peet and Matthew Perry

- 30 Rock: Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin

- Ugly Betty: Preview looked good; very "Devil Wears Prada"

- Six Degrees: Can't turn down Hope Davis

- Men in Trees: Can't turn down Anne Heche, her personal issues aside

RETURNING SHOWS
- Prison Break

- The Simpsons

- How I Met Your Mother: Cobie!!!

- The New Adventures of Old Christine

- Law and Order Criminal Intent: Got hooked on this over the summer

- My Name Is Earl

- The Office: Jim and Pam!!!

- Desperate Housewives: Despite lackluster 2nd season, still giving it a chance

- Gilmore Girls: Still pissed about last season, but I'm willing to forgive

- Veronica Mars

- Everybody Hates Chris: My favorite new sitcom from last season

- Lost

The only thing I'm looking forward to is the return of "Supernatural" and the NFL...and perhaps CSI. Beyond that, there's really nothing new or returning that interests me.

Out of the new shows, I'm going to give Legion of Super Heroes, Heroes and The 9 a try. But I'm much more excited about the returning shows: Veronica Mars, Gilmore Girls, Battlestar Galactica, Smallville and Boston Legal.

The Wire
LOST
Veronica Mars
Galactica

Winter:
24
The Shield
Sopranos

I would love to have more shows on my slate, but just can't get excited about most TV.

I watch the original L&O (and the spinoffs to a lesser extent) and Without a Trace (I never tire of looking at Poppy Montgomery) on the cable channels when I happen upon them, but that's it.

The article on the Law & Order move to Fridays and slight revamp has me curious, so I'll probably check out a couple eps.

I am looking forward to Studio 60. I am a huge Aaron Sorkin fan and really like the cast. I just hope the writing will be on the par with Sorkin's other shows.

I'm just waiting for tomorrow when House starts back up. I've got nothing as far as new shows are concerned, they just don't interest me. I'll have 24 on my watch list once we hit January as well.

The basement of the FBI building
Returning Shows: I'll be watching The Simpsons (out of loyalty, not quality) Gilmore Girls, Lost and South Park. Other shows that I watch when I'm around but don't go out of my way to see are Prison Break, CSI (just the Vegas one), and Supernatural.

New Shows: I may take a look at Studio 60 but that's probably it.

Winter Shows: 24, The Shield, The Sopranos and Entourage.

New shows -

Daybreak
Traveler

Probably too much television, but I suspect that Smallville and Supernatural are going to die on Thursdays and won't make it back next fall. Might as well enjoy them while they last.

Aside from The Office and The Wire, those are the only shows that I'm REALLY looking forward to their return. Too bad it's another 4-6 months before they're all back.

Somehow I find time for 8-9 hours surf the web and pass time on my computer.

BTW, I just looked at my Excel worksheet and there are 67 shows listed, however 15 of them are 30 minute shows. Some of the shows are in the check them out category. As the season matures I'll probably winnow them down to 50 or so. With four HD-DVRs I seldom need to view live TV. That allows me to fast-forward through commercials, "previously on blah blah", and end credits I can squeeze an extra show or two into an evenings viewing.
