i'm a big fan of the early Chaplin works, some of Keaton and FW Murnau. i'd like to get a few HD box sets if they were available =).

I would buy films like THE GOLD RUSH, METROPOLIS and the original PHANTOM OF THE OPERA in a hearbeat on High Def.

i don't think metropolis is fritz's best work. even M is better than that. i like lang's noir movies. there's somn that gels and feels right about it all. i prefer the kid over gold rush.

lou chaney is one of the greats of silent cinema. i'd also like to get a big collection of chaney titles.

all in HD of course.

I agree, I like SIEGFRIED better overall. But METROPOLIS has some of the most beautiful visuals of any film from any era. And it is so iconic.

The reason for HiDef, is NOT to get the consumer the best PQ ever.
It's to resell "every" title on SD in HD!

The timetable, will be the problem.
Look at all the great titles that haven't be released on SD DVD after 9+ yrs!
Movies are: "The Greatest Artform".
HD should be for EVERYONE!
