My vote goes to Robert De Niro for his incredible performance in Raging Bull. Acting just doesn't get any better than that!

While I do like DeNiro in Raging Bull and he is one of my favorite actors ... I like all actors that make me forget about them and totally immerse me into their characters.
Some that come to mind ...
Harvey Keitel in BAD LIEUTENANT
Edward Norton in AMERICAN HISTORY X
Tom Hanks in FORREST GUMP
and some oddball stuff like
Mike Myers as AUSTIN POWERS :)

I thought that Hanks was fantastic in Philadelphia. Daniel Day Lewis was also extremely good the same year in In the Name of the Father.

I think you posted in the wrong thread accidentally. This is a thread about the BEST performances, not the WORST. If you want to talk about worst performances, it'd be better to do so in a thread dedictated to that topic.
