I think "The Man Room" had the cover art up last week, but they took it down shortly after. Nice to see more info on this.

Knowing Warner Brothers, we probably won't get a release date until the Thursday before it hits the shelves (though I'd hope there would be more advanced noticed for a bigger title such as this).

Ehh... This one has nothing on the first two (in my humble opinion). It was entertaining though at least.

Definitely not as good as the first two flicks, but still a pretty damn good action movie IMHO. I'm very interested to see how good it looks and sounds in HD. It should be one of the best demo titles on the format to date.

Agree Brent! The first 2 are modern day classics. But T3 is still a pretty solid film and solid entertainment. The audio alone on the SD-dvd was incredible...imagine what DD+ will sound like. "Foundation Repair" companys are grinning right now...

Yeah, action-wise it was great, but I sorely missed the storytelling of the first two. Is it just me though, or was John Connor portayed as being weaker than his ten year-old self from T2?

I don't mean to sound picky here but why can't they include a Dolby True HD track on this disc. The sound mix on this film is incredible and I was looking forward to owning a lossless version of it.

Great News! Sign me up! As for the first two Terminator movies in HD: I'll wait for the HD-DVD versions of those movies and/or a DVD/HD-DVD/Blu-ray "Combo deck". In the meantime, the T2 "Extreme" DVD looks pretty good upscaled ...

While I feel that Terminator 2 was the best and strongest of the 3 movies. Terminator 3 is still a good action movie and can hold its own. It was left completely open at the end so I would love to know if there will be a T4?

Personally I was not impressed with the audio track on the SD-DVD as I felt there was room for improvement. Some peole may not like that statement but thats how I feel. I have not been a fan of Dolby Digital and am waiting to see how good the new versions are, hopefully the new Dolby tracks will aww me. If they did a Dobly True HD track it would most likely be a differnce of night and day. I own T2 on Blu-ray and will see what it looks like once I have the Sony player. Thats if Sony can start coming out with VC-1 titles and a solid Blu-ray player this October? I may just buy T2 over again if it comes out on HD-DVD? Hopefully they will have a release date for T3 sometime soon. And I hope that it has a Dolby True HD on the HD release.

I remember right after T3 came out it was mentioned on some news station that there will eventually be a fourth one; with or without Arnold.

What matting issue?

I think this movie was shot in Super 35 and there were some questions as to whether the 2.35:1 transfer that was included on the Widescreen version of the DVD matched the framing of the theatrical presentation. In particular, it appeared as though a few full torso shots of the female Terminator had been zoomed-in on the 2.35:1 DVD transfer, but the same scenes were intact on the 1.33:1 DVD (even though the sides were cropped).

This, of course, is all "part-and-parcel" of the wonderful world of Super 35 ... :frowning:

The "telesync" version would be a bootleg taken from an actual anamorphic 35mm release print, so that's how T3 looked theatrically, there's really no question. It's never been explained why those shots were zoomed in so much on the widescreen DVD, and it appears to only affect those shots.
