I just purchased a new laptop. its got a 15.4'' widescreen display. Now i went to google and found a wallpaper that i liked, but it turns out that because of my monitor, its stretched (its jessica alba bikini pic from "Into the Blue"), so are there any sites that have wider walls? (and it doesn't have to be a babe pic)

Why not just crop the image in photoshop or a similar program and make it wide?

This has alot of options for sizes. Some of the material is NSFW, but there's a good selection of just celebrity images too.

Use "Center" instead of stretch. It won't fill the screen, but at least it will be OAR.

vladstudio.com has some amazing stuff, the low-res for free.

I opted to pay the $30 lifetime subscription - that's where I got all these images for my setup.

I found a nifty wallpaper utility that was designed to rotate wallpaper. One of the options is fill and crop, which works well on widescreen notebooks.

If you like space type art:
http://gallery.artofgregmartin.com/

Not all wallpapers are widescreen, but there's a some that have 1920x1200 resolution, others are widescreen but with letterboxing that can be cropped.

I love his artwork and have been grabbing wallpapers from him for years.

Digital Blasphemy is great, but you have to pay for the higher resolutions.

Fans of Zhang Ziyi and in particular her retro beauty in "2046" can find some nice widescreen production stills under "Promotional Images." The upper and lower right images are especially nice on a 20" widescreen display. The other pages with her films also have higher res images that should suit a 16:10 display.

Vivek,

Very interesting wallpapers, though it looks like the functionality
on them is geared towards home security which I do not have.

...but here's my question

Are these interactive wallpapers that come with channel guides
or weather feeds, etc?

I should go check out that homepage you listed. Will do so now.

For interactive wallpapers you could use the active desktop and set it to a website of choice. Either something like Yahoo's personal homepage or you could even make your own.

For a really broad search, try using google with the terms "wallpaper" and whatever the numbers are for the resolution you're looking for. For example, if your screen is 1280x800, do "wallpaper 1280 800" or if it's 1440x900 "wallpaper 1440 900". You'll get hits that then will correspond with the exact resolution of your screen.

My favorite. Milla Jovovich "Undies"
Milla is in her undies, hence the name.
A relatively simple wallpaper (a side-extension with some grain and second image added), and still my favorite pic.

Digital Blasphemy now offers free 1920 x 1200 widescreen wallpapers. Can't really compete with Milla in her undies though.
