Just a reminder that the 3rd season of Rescue Me starts tonight on FX in the 10 p.m. EDT slot, but there are a few re-airings during the week as well.

I'm there. I've been waiting all year for this, and after the finale from last season, I can't wait to see what happens.

Also, if you haven't seen the comedy short up at http://www.aol.com/rescueme, do yourselves a favor and check it out. You might laugh yourself out of the chair. It was very funny.

Now all I need is the money to own Season 2 on DVD...

My mom and I have been waiting for this season since the end of last season. I'm wondering what will happen after last season's finale, and what kinds of stories they'll come up with for this season.

Dayum! Paige Turco (Mrs. Turbity) is still looking fine these days. Loving how flustered Tommy got in her presence, and now he's scheming to hit it and put a wedge between her and his godson. Good stuff.

I forgot how much I enjoy this show during the hiatus. This show is the perfect blend of laugh out loud comedy and stirring drama. The sex talk in the car was a particular highlight.

I've always anticipated The Shield seasons, with Rescue Me being somewhat secondary - but no more. Lost, 24, Sopranos, The Office all go off to summer break, yet I still get this show and Deadwood!

It is a rare thing to experience the full gambit of emotions during one hour of primetime tv, thank goodness for fx and hbo (but don't kill deadwood, or I will never forgive you)

I love this show, too. I was laughing my butt off when I realized the kid was banging his teacher. And then the same episode has Tommy trying to give CPR to the "dead" girl.

The season promo looks good, two. And the show is certainly attacting some serious guest-stars/recurring actors.

Just FYI, the expression is "full gamut of emotions" :)

GAMUT (n)
1 a : the first or lowest note of each hexachord of Guido's great scale b : GREAT SCALE c : the whole series of recognized musical notes; sometimes : a recognized scale d : the compass of a voice or instrument
2 : an entire range from one extreme to another : a graded series including all kinds - "gamut." Webster's Third New International Dictionary, Unabridged. Merriam-Webster, 2002. http://unabridged.merriam-webster.com ( 31 May 2006).

GAMBIT (n)
1 : a chess opening in which a player voluntarily risks one or more pawns or a minor piece to gain an advantage in position
2 a (1) : a remark or comment designed to launch a conversation or to make a telling point
2 b (1) : a calculated move, maneuver, or device. (2) : a tactical maneuver in which an airplane awaiting favorable opportunity to attack keeps out of sight of a submarine periscope - "gambit." Webster's Third New International Dictionary, Unabridged. Merriam-Webster, 2002. http://unabridged.merriam-webster.com ( 31 May 2006)

I liked last night's episode. This season looks to be as good as the last 2. Hopefully they can keep it up for at least a couple more seasons.

The porno was hillarious with the bad acting, visible crew members struggling to close doors, the boom falling into the shot and the exit sign over the "office" door. I had a feeling that Johnny was going to be revealed to be Janet's new boyfriend. Back in season one's "Butterfly" Johnny mentioned his wife (and what she wouldn't do), was there ever a reference to them divorcing or seperating?

On the plus side you did spell "emotions" without the extra "t" and can probably type the word "just" without adding a "y" to it. :D

I have to say that this is simply one of the best season premeires I've ever seen. "Rescue Me" continues to surprise me with almost everything it does. One minute, it's uproariously funny, and the next, it really gets emotional. It's this balance that makes the show one of the best ones out there.

My hope though is that "Nip/Tuck" will make a great comeback come September, and "The Shield" will continue to amaze. The promos I saw for both shows during "Rescue Me"'s season premeire reaffirm that those hopes will be right.

Although to put myself back on topic, I think this season of "Rescue Me" will rank up there with the previous seasons. If we have a premeire as good as this, how can it not?

Poor Tommy, but I think his brother's betrayal will be the one that kills him, whereas he can write Janet off as a b*tch now.

Man, is this a great show! And I LOOOOOOVE Denis Leary.
