The Disclaimer Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

"LP" in the RoundUp table means a store’s Sunday flyer says "Low Price". That means I could not locate a definite price for the item, and the ad is all I have to go on. Retailers use these phrases in advertisements so that they do not violate MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) agreements with the studios. Doing so can cost them thousands or even millions of dollars in co-op advertising funds.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, as always, Circuit City does not guarantee their sale prices in Hawaii.

The Specials

**WOW!
htf_images_smilies_eek.gif
For the first time in a LOOOOONG time, there are NO new releases this week in a Modified Aspect Ratio! :emoji_thumbsup:

--Phew! HUGE week! A ton of box sets. New TV on DVD releases. Some SEs of film classics. A couple of Criterions. Some recent theatrical and TV releases. And, some high-def releases. A real “something for everybody” week.

--In the High-Definition/Software forums of the HTF there is discussion that Blazing Saddles has been announced for Tuesday. I cannot find any evidence of that at the e-tailers or retailers. I would just figure that the prices listed for all the other HD-DVDs this week would hold up for Blazing Saddles if it is being rushed out this week.

--Best Buy, this week, is advertising an EXCLUSIVE “THE PRACTICE” BONUS DVD with their copies of Boston Legal: Season 1. On-pack. Includes 4-episode prequel to Boston Legal. Minimum 8 per store. No rainchecks.

--Save $30, instantly, at Best Buy when you buy Seasons 1 ($54.99) AND 2 ($63.99) of Deadwood. Must be purchased on same receipt. $55 + $64 = $119. $119 - $30 = $89. $89/2 = $$44.50 apiece. Good deal! :emoji_thumbsup:

--Best Buy is holding one of its 2/$20 promotions when you buy BOTH High School Musical on DVD ($14.99) and High School Musical soundtrack CD ($9.99) (Includes 2 CDs, ringtones, poster and 8 karaoke tracks). Save $5.

--Circuit City has an EXCLUSIVE FREE RINGTONE this week with its copies of All You’ve Got. A free Ciara “1, 2 Step” ringtone.

--Circuit City is now also doing a deal on High School Musical. Buy both the DVD ($13.99) and soundtrack CD ($9.99) and receive an EXCLUSIVE FREE $5 Circuit City GIFT CARD.

--Circuit City has two deals on some WWE stuff this week. Save $5 with the purchase of Wrestlemania 22 on DVD ($14.99) and the audio CD WWE Wreckless Intent ($10.99). But…BEWARE…this seems to be a $5 mail-in rebate towards a future pay-per-view WWE event with purchase. The CC ad says that you’ll save $5 with the joint purchase…but in small print it adds that there is the $5 mail-in rebate on the pay-per-view purchase.

--Circuit City is also promoting an EXCLUSIVE FREE “See No Evil” PENDANT (in the shape of a meat hook) with the WWE merchandise. I don’t think the WWE has anything to do with “See No Evil”, but what the heck do I know?!

While supplies last. Minimum 10 per store.

--Target is advertising a FREE MINI YEARBOOK with its copies of High School Musical on DVD. Quantity limited, no rainchecks.

--Target is also advertising an EXCLUSIVE BONUS CD with its copies of All You’ve Got.

--And what would a week be without Target offering a FREE $5 GiftCard? This week, get your Target $5 GiftCard with the purchase of either M*A*S*H: Season 10 OR Boston Legal: Season 1. Quantity limited, no rainchecks.

--Many locations are advertising that their copies of BloodRayne: Director’s Cut (NR) will include a PC videogame “BloodRayne 2” A $25 value.

Thanks for the RoundUp Mike and Patrick. I have two words for you...

Denny Crane!

At least, that's what I'll be buying this week...

Gary: Maybe you can answer this for me. I was surprised to see Shatner & Bergen both on the cover of the Season 1 box. I thought they both came later in the season. Were they both there from the beginning or were they later additions to the show?

I've heard soooo much about the Shatner/Spader relationship...that I am thinking about picking up Boston Legal sometime. It would be a blind buy.

Oh. Ya know someone last week brought up in the HTF (maybe it was even in the RoundUp) about how Amazon.com has been going MSRP with their Disney/Buena Vista titles.

Well, just take a gander at the Amazon price on High School Musical!

Thanks for the round-up.

Nothing for me this week. I had thought that Warners Bette Davis Volume 2 was coming out this week, but that was based on incorrect information posted at the onvideo.org website. Guess I'll have another week to save up for that. Starting with next week, the next two months are going to be killers on the pocketbook with numerous box sets on my "must have" list coming out.

The listing for Metal: A Headbanger’s Journey caught my eye. I had never heard of it before now so I did a little poking around the Internet and found the official site. It looks like an interesting movie for us metal fans.

Shatner was there from the get-go (actually he made his first appearances on The Practice, before Kelley spun off Boston Legal -- and, if I'm not mistaken, the four episodes Shatner was in are likely to be the ones included on the exclusive Best Buy bonus disc you mentioned in the RoundUp.) Bergen's, Shirley Schmidt, character does not appear until well into the first season, IIRC.

Nothing for me this week, which probably isn't a bad thing since I'm probably going to buy an MP3 player this week. Thanks, though, Mike and Patrick.

Bergen came later in season one but Shatner played Denny Crane on the last couple episodes of The Practice (I'm pretty sure) & was a member of Boston Legal from Day One (In fact even when it was supposed to be called Fleet Street but they changed the title before it ever aired).

Thanks for the roundup. Just Dirty Dozen SE & Patton SE for me. I wish I had a Costco because people (at another site) have reported Costco breaking street date & having X3 moviecash in Patton, Longest Day & Tora Tora Tora. No Costco or BB here though.

A lot of releases, and not a single item for me to get this week. Besides, I am still broke after buying that portable dvdplayer last week..which I got a Polaroid 7inch model from Circuit City for 120..which is nice. Thanks again Mike.

Nothing on the roundup that I absolutely have to have this week, though I will eventually get Samurai Jack Season 3, X-Men Evolution Season 3, and the SNL discs.

I might snag the Indy box at that great BB price, though -- been wanting to get that for some time. I'd also like to pick up Girl Next Door at that CC price, but I don't see another title on that list that I want and either don't already have or would prefer to get a SE-version on. Maybe a blind buy on League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Drum Line, Last Of The Mohicans, Entrapment or Super Troopers. Anyone got a recommendation?

Thanks for the round-up!

Yep...

Wrestling star Kane plays a giant-sized serial killer hunting the delinquent teens who invade his hotel hideout.

I'm not interested in the title, but what's with the CC price on the rated Bloodrayne?

Just the Kingdom of Heaven DC for me. I loved the theatrical cut, so I can only imagine how much I'll enjoy this true version.
