I think my wife may be getting me XM for my 40th birthday. I have read some of the posts herein that have information related to antenna placement. However, I want to ask some direct questions......and let's assume I do not wish to pay to have the unit wired into the aux input of my factory radio (I'm not even sure if my 2001 Ford Escape has one or not). I also live in Newburyport, MA and drive mostly in the greater Boston area: 1) Have people had success with the antenna mounted inside the car on the dash? 2) I think I could mount outside the top of the hatch and just run the wire through the space around the hatch. It seems like there is enough padding that there would not be a much risk of crimping. Any other suggestions, ideas to try, etc. Thanks ahead of time for your thoughts!
