I have not traveled in a long time; however, this August, my daughter and I will go to visit Japan, and I wonder if the SmartMedia memory cards used by my camara will get damage while passing to the airport here in the US and then in Tokyo.

I will be carrying the camara and the SmartMedia cards with me as I go thru the check points, and I hope to have very little trouble going to all the inspections and x-ray machines.

Regards,
orestes

orestes,

I don't think any of the popular camera memory cards are damaged when going through airport x-ray machines. I have taken Compact Flash, Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro, SD & XD cards through airport x-ray machines many times without any problem.
