I was talking to people at work about my thread about who will be the acting icons of the future. The discussion turned to "If you can bring an actor back or if they are very old and want them younger who would it be?" Give you 5 choices....

1-Jimmy Stewart
2-Steve McQueen
3-Kirk Douglas (make younger)
4-Sean Connery (make him a little younger so he will be around for a while.)
5-John Belushi (So much comedy left to give)

I am bad. I didn't pick any woman. But, these were my 5 top choices.
Bring back John Doe! Or at least resolve the cliff-hanger with a 2hr movie or as an extra on a dvd release.

I don't know if he's considered an acting icon, but it sure would have been cool if Bruce Lee lived longer.

Along the "wish they would have lived longer" idea, I also add River Phoenix.

Luckily, right at that moment, an unconscious Argentinean fell through my roof.

To bring back:

How could you forget Humphrey Bogart?!

Ingrid Bergman
Rita Hayworth
Lana Turner
Audrey Hepburn
Katharine Hepburn
Charlie Chaplin
Buster Keaton
Lucille Ball
Henry Fonda
Edward G Robinson
Mae West
Carmen Miranda

Erroll Flynn - I'll bet he could come up with antics that would put these "sex tape" amateurs of these days [Tommy Lee & Pamela Anderson, Paris Hilton, Colin Farrell, etc.] to shame!

To make Younger:

Harrison Ford
Mark Hamill
Carrie Fisher

That way we could get a REAL prequel trilogy to Star Wars!

John Spencer. So West Wing could be completed without his sad demise "forced" into the storyline, and so he'd be available at reunions or spin-offs, if any. And of course for his own sake, he was great -- it would've been nice to see him as the lead in his own series.

Gosh...so many I'd love to still have around, or have around for a long time to come. Some first reactions:

Bring back:

Vincent Price (in a class by himself)
Lon Chaney (a truly outstanding performer)
Denver Pyle (one of the best character actors ever, along with Dub Taylor)
Buddy Ebsen (simply classic)
Michael Landon (a tremendous multi-talent)

Make younger:

Jack Klugman
Dustin Hoffman
Clint Eastwood
Dick Van Dyke
James Garner

I think that he would have self destructed had he lived....he's was likely one of those guys that shone brightest when they are young and hungry and later burnout as they grow older and their popularity fades. He would have probably either gone strange like Marlon Brando or turn to drugs and booze like others have. That's the vibe I get from James Dean.
