Does anyone know if the Basic Instinct coming out in March is a new transfer? Or is it just the Sharon Stone intro thats new and thats all.

The link says it is the same unrated cut but doesn't say if it is the old transfer or new.:frowning:

THis is true too and is the original question i was asking. The dvd does contain a new interview so even if its not a new transfer the compression and all from a 06 pressing may make it better. Other then that i dont know.

I picked this up and the transfers look near identical to me on my PC where I tested them. There are some new extras on this disc (like the director commentary I believe), but sound and video should be the same as the previous uncut.

Paul Verhoeven and Jan De Bont did the previous commentary, so unless they recorded a brand new one together, I'm guessing it's the same...

I didn't see their names listed on the back of the last edition from 2003. Just says Commentary With Feminist Critic Camille Paglia.

But I do see the "icepick" version had the commentary. so you're right.
