Orson Welles Collection: The Stranger, King Lear, David and Goliath, The Trial.

The Disclaimer Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

"LP" in the RoundUp table means a store’s Sunday flyer says "Low Price". That means I could not locate a definite price for the item, and the ad is all I have to go on. Retailers use these phrases in advertisements so that they do not violate MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) agreements with the studios. Doing so can cost them thousands or even millions of dollars in co-op advertising funds.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, as always, Circuit City does not guarantee their sale prices in Hawaii.

The Specials

**BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL! Domino AND North Country AND Rent AND The Weather Man are ALL available in both OAR and MAR versions...get the correct one(s) !

--Sears, this week, is advertising 15% off ALL DVDs in stock….with no limit! Pretty good deal! :emoji_thumbsup:

--As I post the RoundUp this week, I was not able to obtain either a BestBuy or Circuit City flyer, so much of my information in the “Specials” section has been obtained from a wide variety of internet sources.

--Best Buy, this week, is offering EXCLUSIVE FREE TRADING CARDS with the purchase of Ultimate Avengers: The Movie ($12.99).

--Circuit City is offering a FREE CALENDAR with its copies of Rent ($14.99).

--Circuit City also has a promo offer with Ultimate Avengers: The Movie. How about some FREE CANDY?!?! Your choice of Raisinets, Whoppers, or Skittles!

--Target, this week, is offering one of its $5 GiftCards FREE with the purchase of 3rd Rock from the Sun: Season 3. Quantity limited. No rainchecks.

Just All The President's Men SE for me (can't believe no good "day after President's Day" sales on it though). I hate paying $19.99 for a new release.

As always, thanks Mike and Patrick. I was planning on just Weather Man this week, but that $17 Amazon price on Action is tempting.

And I'm waiting on ATPM until next week for the box set, which I'm getting from Amazon for

Action and Ultimate Avengers are the "must buy immediately" titles for me. I think I'm going to go ahead and get both from Amazon - given that Action is $5 cheaper than BB and there's no tax, I'll still come out ahead.

That said, I think I'm going to grab a CC flyer and get some of those on-sale items price-matched at BB for RZ points. Lots of good prices on stuff I've been putting off getting (The Office, The Mask, Starship Troopers, Purple Rain, etc.).

I'm interested in seeing Domino and Rent, but not enough to blind buy them at new release prices.

Thanks as always, guys!

Thanks for the round up Mike like always. Even so I already seen the Ultimate Avengers movie (brother manage to find it when I was looking for some Marvel Legends figure), I want to get my own copy. It worth watching for anyone who on the fence. Besides that, I going to buy back Fellowship of the Ring and Two Towers extended verison for 14 each this week at Disc Replay (they have them on hold for me). Seeya later Mike.

Thanks for the RoundUp, Mike and Patrick!

Well, for me anyway, not much in the way of TV on DVD for the first time in a long time.

I know I want the SE's of Midnight Cowboy and All the President's Men, but $20 bucks a pop seems pretty pricey for films of this vintage. I think I will hold out and see if they are available at a better price down the road.

I may end up taking the plunge on Fantastic Four at CC for $12.99. It'll be a blind buy, but at that price, even if I hate it, I can live with it.

Speaking of blind buys, is Rent worth picking up sight unseen?

Depends on how much you like musicals... I've found that Moulin Rouge is a good yardstick for this movie. Depending on how much you loved/hated that movie is a good indicator on how much you will love/hate Rent, at least amongst my circle (They have very similar messages about living for today and taking a chance on love while you can).

Both movies are fantastic in their own disparate ways. I'll be picking up Rent & Action this week and holding off on Ultimate Avengers until I read a few more reviews of the set.

Thanks as usual.

I'll be getting All the President's Men, when and if I verify an improved transfer.

Also, definitely, the Robert Benchley shorts.

Does anyone know what's on that other set of Paramount comedy shorts?

I'll definitely be picking up Rent. One of my favorite movies of last year.

I'm curious to learn more about that calendar. I wonder if it is worth the longer drive out to Circuit City...

Thanks for the Roundup!

It's an Amazon week for me, with Midnight Cowboy, Rent, and Action!.

I'll wait a week to get All The President's Men in the "Controversial Classics Vol. 2" box. With Amazon's price of $41.89, it's pretty close to getting one of these essential 70s classics for free.

Correct, for those that don't know, "Network" and "Dog Days Afternoon" will be released with "All the President's Men" in a new box set next week. Without a doubt, if you have interest in these titles, it will be cheaper for you to buy the box set than the individual titles. I have word that the dvd presentations were derived from new transfers and will have better quality and more bonus material than the previously dvd releases.

Let's see... I want:
Action
Memory of a Killer
Domino
Ultimate Avengers

My note on Rent: one of the worst films of the year. poor direction, overlong songs, anoying characters... ugh, it was a chore to sit through. No offense meant to those who liked it.

Hmmm. Thanks, David. Generally, I enjoy musicals, but Moulin Rouge (and its MTV approach) didn't do much for me one way or another. I didn't "hate" it, but I have no desire to see it again any time soon. Perhaps I will NetFlix it first and check it out. I guess I was thinking (hoping) it would be an updated HAiR type experience.

Continued thanks for the service you guys provide! It was looking like a real light week according to my Best Buy flyer this morning. If not for you folks I would have not known about Midnight Cowboy or Action. And that I should wait a week to get All the President's Men in the box set!

I have yet to pick up any NYPD Blue... I was hoping that with the release of the third season someone might have had advertised specials on the previous two seasons. Oh, well!
