Wow, wonder how much these things are going to cost. It does sound interesting, that's for sure. And that's an insane contrast ratio they're boasting too. This already has me thinking about upgrading in a few years, depending on how all this shakes down.

Between the SED, OLED and FED coming out over the next few years you are going to be having a lot more choice for your HiDef dollars.

The great thing about these units is that they are transmissive instead of reflective in nature and tend to use a lot less energy to drive the screen. The drawback is that the technology still has a lot of kinks to be worked out and thus very expensive to start out with.

OLED is already showing up in some cellphones.
