Help hooking up a Mac Mini to HDTV (1 Viewer)

I have tried everything to get my Mac Mini to display on my HDTV through a DVI connection. I have used SwitchResX and DisplayConfig to get it to display. I have ran VNC on the Mini and connected with another computer but the Mac Mini show no monitor being connected even when the DVI cable is ran to my TV.
I tried the AverMedia Quickplay to go Mac Mini with DVI to VGA Adapter into the Quickplay to Component Video on my Tv and that didn't work.
I know the DVI port on the TV works because I have a DVD player hooked into it, I know the DVI port on the Mac Mini works cause Ive hooked it up to a monitor with a DVI connection.

Any suggestions?

The DVI input could one of many inputs on the TV. Have you selected the right input to display on the TV? For example, input1 would be s-video, input2 is component, etc.

Yes the DVI is on the "Digital" input on my TV and all I get is a green screen.
