Great review Herb....but..
..fix it..FIX IT!!! Posted Image

Fine review, look forward to this DVD with high expectations, albeit tempered with realistic reservations that I have advised others to adopt for some time now...I don't expect to be disappointed.

Well done, Herb! Thanks! Counting the days...

There's Jessie the yodeling cowgirl. Bullseye, he's Woody's horse. Pete the old prospector. And, Woody, the man himself.Of course, it's time for Woody's RoundUp. He's the very best! He's the rootinest, tootinest cowboy in the wild, wild west!

Thanks Herb. I knew I would want that tin...may be weird, but I find embossed tins attractive, it's kind of a retro thing.

Which doesn't make sense since overscan is becoming less of an issue with new sets.

Another excellent review Herb!!! It's funny but I never thought I would ever get to replace my old VHS copy. In fact for years I had refused to play it again out of fear that I might damage the tape since it was about 20 years old. Not anymore!!

If you are referring to widescreen/HD sets then remember that not everyone has them, certainly not more than 30% or 40% of DVD equipped homes....but I suppose that this mindset would have inspired many DVD producers not to embrace 16x9 at all* years ago.

The point is that there shouldn't be any windowboxing, of course. There's no reason to undermine a transfer like that. The screenshots on DVDBeaver.com don't show any bars though. Hmm.

That depends on how windowboxed it is I suppose, I can't imagine that it is very much.

I want to hear if any of the etailers has shipped yet because I have two orders from different etailers and neither one has shipped? Anyhow, nice review!

Mine was shipped on wednesday arrived this morning! The 4-disc set, £18 Region 1, from my usual Brit based etailer. Thankfully the cover isn't in French & English!

Nice review Herb, didn't realise Kong had such a hefty documentary, 158 mins!! Can't wait to check everything out. Mighty Joe Young on dvd, finally in me hands! Posted Image

I'm ordering both the tin & the collection boxset, so I'll either keep my extra Kong disc as a back-up or give it to my sister or girlfriend. Can't wait to get my hands on this DVD though.

This is actually a film I've never gotten around to seeing. I know, I know...shameful. But that will be remedied come this Tuesday. I figure buying it instead of renting it will make up for my inexcusable lack of having never seen this. Now if I can only decide which version to get...

I'm really going to embarrass myself, but I know when I pick up the box tin set with Son and Joe at Best Buy Tuesday, I will rub it all over my body. Hope they don't throw me out of the store. P.S. Is there a delay with the release of Cooper's The Last Days of Pompeii?
