The Disclaimer Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

"LP" in the RoundUp table means a store’s Sunday flyer says "Low Price". That means I could not locate a definite price for the item, and the ad is all I have to go on. Retailers use these phrases in advertisements so that they do not violate MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) agreements with the studios. Doing so can cost them thousands or even millions of dollars in co-op advertising funds.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, as always, Circuit City does not guarantee their sale prices in Hawaii.

The Specials

**BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL! House of Wax (2005) is available in both OAR and MAR versions...get the correct one(s) !

--Best Buy is rolling out some incredible prices for members of its RewardZone Program! The Sunday flyer clearly shows that both the 2-disc Wizard of Oz AND RIZE are both going to be offered for just $12.99 for RewardZoners ($16.99 otherwise). That is going to be a very tough price to beat! Now, as is often the case, in the flyer…those two titles have been strategically placed next to three other titles which are also carrying the price this week of $16.99—Herbie: Fully Loaded, Bewitched (2005) and House of Wax (2005). While the yellow price tags which denote the special Reward Zone price do NOT come in direct contact with the cover photos for those other three titles, I would NOT be surprised at all to learn that those titles also qualify for the RZ discount. Time will tell!

--A number of EXCLUSIVES from Best Buy this week: The first features 3rd Rock from the Sun. The BB copies have exclusive bonus content including 13 minutes of extended bloopers and Sally’s best outtakes.

--Best Buy is also promoting on its copies of Tripping the Rift: Season 1: Exclusive content including an unrated, never-before-aired version of the premiere episode os Season 2.

--And, finally, Best Buy is advertising on Street Figher Alpha: Generations: Exclusive music and interview.

--Jennifer Garner fans can save $10, instantly, when you buy Alias: Season 4 ($39.99) along with EITHER Alias: Seasons 2 OR 3 ($42.99 each).Must be purchased on same receipt. No rainchecks.

--Lindsay Lohan and Dean Jones fans (and you know you’re out there. Don’t be ashamed to admit it! :D ) can save $5, instantly, with the purchase of Herbie: Fully Loaded ($16.99) and the Love Bug ($14.99). Also, must be purchased on same receipt. No rainchecks.

--Not to be outdone (except maybe on that RZ price for the 2-disc Wizard of Oz!)…Circuit City is rolling out a bunch of deals this week.

--To start, Circuit City is including a bonus disc with its copies of Bewitched (2005) which contains three episodes from the Bewitched TV show.

--Circuit City also has a deal on Alias season sets. Save $10 with the purchae of Alias: Season 4 ($39.99) and EITHER Alias: Seasons 2 OR 3 OR Lost: Season 1. In-store only. Purchases must be on same receipt.

--Circuit City also has a FREE CD/DVD Wallet to give away with its copies of Herbie: Fully Loaded. In store only. While supplies last. Minimum 24 per store. Styles vary by store.

--Target has a couple of its GiftCard offers this week. A FREE $10 giftcard with the purchase of BOTH Bewitched (2005 AND Bewitched: Season 2. Also, a $5 GiftCard with the purchase of L Word: Season 2. GiftCard automatically given at register. No rainchecks.

--I’d like to make special note this week of the assistance of EricSchulz. Eric has been flying under the radar…feeding me Target prices for quite awhile now. His assistance has gone unmentioned until now…but NOT unappreciated by me. Thanks, Eric! :emoji_thumbsup:

The Appeal

Any visitor to the Weekly RoundUp should be sure to check out the new Main Portal Page of the Home Theater Forum….FOR TWO VERY GOOD REASONS!

First: Parker & Ron have re-formatted the Portal Page to include exclusive HT industry news you won’t find in any place on the HTF! Second: You will help support the Home Theater Forum and keep it up and running.

Operating the HTF is not free for Parker and Ron. That is why there is advertising throughout the forum and there has been the occasional membership fund drive. THIS IS AN EASY WAY FOR YOU TO HELP…AND IT’S FREE OF CHARGE…AND INFORMATIVE, TOO! :D

If you simply link to the Portal Page when you start your visits to the HTF, that act alone wILL bring revenue to the forum. While it would also be nice if you wanted to click on some of the advertisers’ links and check out their deals and sales (that form of “window shopping” would bring even more revenue to the forum), the simple act of landing on the Portal Page registers a “hit” or “impression” that creates revenue for the HTF.

So, if you’ve been “sneaking in” to the HTF through links to your favorite thread or forum, please take an extra second of your time and land first on the HTF Portal Page. You’ll see the new Industry News sections AND help out financially. THANKS!

Thanks for the Roundup Mike. I've got Wizard of Oz 3 disc & Looney Gold #3 coming from Amazon. There's no telling if any of my local stores will even stock them & with no shipping or sales tax they're at least as low in price as any B&M. I'm definitely gettin Titanic CE & Herbie:Fully Loaded (with a Target pm) from CC (Yes, I'm not ashamed to admit it).

Mike-

Thanks for getting the Roundup to us so early in the day.

For me, on first look, it appears I'll be heading to Best Buy. I have $20 in Reward Zone coupons and TWO $3 BB bucks from Mickey D's. So, I'll definitely be getting Titanic, Save The Tiger and W of O 3 disc-er!

Can't find the Leonard Bernstein Concert Box Set for the price listed above on Amazon. Found a 9-disc set of the Young People's Concerts for $119. Which one is the $69 set?

Thanks for the weekly listing!

I'll be hitting Best Buy this week for Titanic and Wizard of Oz. I guess I'll SETTLE for the 2-disc Wizard of Oz for that ridiculous $12.99 RZ price. Plus, I've got some McDonald's BB bucks AND I'll get double bonus points from a letter I got when BB renewed my RZ membership for a year for FREE! :emoji_thumbsup: Woo hoo!

Oh...probably Battle of Britain, too! :D ...although the prices seem high! :frowning:

Thankfully, I thought S4 of Alias was lousy (and S5 is shaping up the same), so I'm going to skip that, but otherwise:

Titanic
Looney Tunes GC
American Gothic (finally!!!)
Wizard of Oz, which is a last minute decision because it's so damn cheap!

Wow, the price disparity between the two Oz sets is huge. I really want the 3-disc set, but I'm not sure if 1 extra disc plus the collectibles warrant a $20 difference. I'll check for the deluxe set at Costco and if I can get it for ~ $30, I'll probably bite. Bastards. :)

I'll also be picking up the LT Gold Collection and maybe Titanic.

Thanks Mike.

Thanks for the link Mike! When I enter "Leonard Bernstein Concert Box Set" into Amazon's search field it doesn't find it! Very strange...

For me this week will be the

Leonard Bernstein Concert Box Set (but of course!)
Wizard of Oz SE
Titanic.

Thanks again!

Looks like Best Buy is getting the majority of my business:
Wizard 3disc
Looney Tunes 3
Munsters 2
Tales/Crypt 2
I have a $5 RZ coupon and also got the "double points" offer with my free renewal!
Titanic from Target

and a weeks vacation to watch them all...

(and thanks for the mention in the RoundUp...it's been my pleasure!)

Looks like the RZ Wizard of Oz price is regional. No matter;

Bird With the Crystal Plumage SE
Cannibal Holocaust 25th Ann.
Wizard of Oz: CE (3 Disk)
Munsters Season 2

Also, Gregg Araki's "Mysterious Skin" drops Tuesday.

The third disc has a documentary on L Frank Baum and seven (IIRC) silent versions of various Oz shorts/features/cartoons. I believe that the three disc edition is the only way to get the collectable materials which includes stills, a program from the opening at Graumans Theater, etc.

Does anyone know if anywhere is selling the 3 disc version of Titanic this week? I could have sworn there was a 2 disc version and a 3 disc one same as Wizard of Oz.
