There's sure a lot of docs about "DESIGNIN" things.

Is there anything on this set that wasn't on the previous one?

On the fourth disc; probably yes.
The previous set was only 3 discs, one for each movie.

Edit: the above applies to R2 and R4, Found the complete story:
http://www.bttf.com/index.php?/weblo...le ctors_set/

"This will be a 4 disk set, but there’s nothing in it that wasn’t in ours," adds writer/producer Bob Gale, comparing the set to the 2002 domestic R1 release. "The films were released originally with fewer special features because they included a DTS soundtrack. So their Disk 4 includes the material that wasn’t originally in any of theirs (including Secrets of the BTTF Trilogy, Power of Love Music Video, and the Deleted scenes which include my commentary – the commentary wasn’t in the previous version.)"

The framing will most likely be corrected. These are the extras that the R1 set has always had, they're justing porting them over to this new R2 set.

It's hard to say at this point, if they do include all the various commentary's then they'll probably end up dropping the DTS track, however the inclusion of this 4th disc seems to indicate that the first three discs may be identical to the previous R2 release, just that they're repackaged with this new disc.

My guess is that they'll keep the DTS tracks, add the commentary tracks
and put all (old and new) extras on the new fourth disc.

Sorry to dig up this old thread, but can anyone confirm if the current 4-disc set, link above, in Australia contains the fixed v2 discs?
I just realized my original 3-disc set contains the incorrect framing, and I don't want to buy the same bad discs twice.

Cheers

I like the way films where advertised in the good ole days presented in 70mm six-track Dolby Stereo, dts sucks! There really isn’t any big difference between the naff dts mix and the perfect six-track Dolby Stereo mix which is indispensable.
