Films seen:

...um...uh...none. :b

I suppose I should at least see TOTW and Olympia, but frankly, neither is high on the list.

I'm an idiot - could a mod please edit the title of this thread from forty two to three? Thanks in advance!

Just Triumph of the Will from her, but also The Wonderful, Horrible Life of Leni Riefenstahl.

Why start a thread on a Director in which you haven't seen any films?

Anyhoo...... I've heard of her - seen a few clips, but never felt the driving need to see any of her work.

Jim has a point, and indeed, I was hesitant to start this thread since I haven't seen any of Riefenstahl's films (though I've certainly heard of her). I wanted to gauge reactions of those members who HAVE seen some of her movies. Not too much feedback thus far which leads me to believe I've no reason to move them up on my to-see list.

No more bickering in these threads, please. Several posts containing gratuitous personal remarks have been removed. Any further such exchanges will result in account suspensions. This is a general warning to all participants.

Done.

Well, I'd certainly recommend you see Triumph of the Will. It's not a film I ever want to see again, but it's amazing from a technical viewpoint, and as I said in another thread about it, if it had been about something good, instead of something evil, such as the Civil Rights March on Washington, it'd be one of the greatest documentaries ever made.

Damn, I missed gratuitous personal remarks and bickering?!! :D

TOTW was the first subtitled film I ever saw. As George says, outstanding from a technical POV, but you can only watch Hitler raving for so long. I would like to see Olympia.
