DIRECTOR FILMOGRAPHY - The Films of EDWARD D. WOOD JR.

Here it is folks, this is what we’ve all been waiting for - the final director checklist.
Ah, what a long strange journey it’s been.

Had many more directors on my list that I would’ve liked to get to, but all things must come to an end sometime & 200 is a good stopping point. I tried to cover as much variety as possible from the obvious “greats” to classic Hollywood directors to genre/cult directors, modern popular directors, critically acclaimed directors, etc, etc. Had some miscalculations along the way (Budd Boetticher) and probably didn’t get to as many foreign film directors as the Sight & Sound club would’ve liked, but you can’t make everyone happy it seems.

If anyone wants to continue on with this checklist series, go for it. I might even join in as a participant but I’m done doing any of the work.

I’ve learned a couple things along the way………..

Steve Christou is living proof that not every Brit pays heed to that ridiculous Sight & Sound poll. Thank God. ;)

I’ve discovered that George Kaplan hates Horror movies almost as much as Brook hates movies made in the English language. :)

And SteveGon really hates Armageddon, and……… um…………… er………..hm……..**taps forehead - thinking**…………… did I already mention Armageddon?

Anyway you all know the drill……………..

Rank ‘em, rate ‘em, review ‘em or whatever.

Sad to see it come to a close Jim, 200 threads in three months? Must be an a HTF record, a big congrats from me on doing a great job livening up the Polls area for a while.:emoji_thumbsup: :emoji_thumbsup:

I really enjoyed participating in them, but for some reason your threads attracted every snooty snoot in the vicinity, only too eager to show us lowly plebs what they thought of all the big, brash, expensive, popular 'English-language' films out there. ;)

I've only seen Plan 9 from Outer Space out of Ed Wood's impressive ouevre, I think I have it on vhs somewhere, I've seen bits of Glen or Glenda and Bride of the Monster.

Btw Jim, what about that Phase 2 thing we were talking about? Not going to bother?

Colonel Tom Edwards: Why is it so important that you want to contact the governments of our earth?

Eros: Because all you of Earth are idiots.

Jeff Trent: Now you just hold on, Buster.

Eros: No, you hold on. First was your firecracker, a harmless explosive. Then your hand grenade: you began to kill your own people, a few at a time. Then the bomb. Then a larger bomb: many people are killed at one time. Then your scientists stumbled upon the atom bomb, split the atom. Then the hydrogen bomb, where you actually explode the air itself. Now you can arrange the total destruction of the entire universe served by our sun: The only explosion left is the Solaranite.

Colonel Tom Edwards: Why, there's no such thing.

Plan 9 From Outer Space - C (I saw this at a film festival so it was fun with the crowd aspect, but I prefer cheezeball horror to cheezeball sci-fi.)

I've seen the film Ed Wood, which makes me feel like I've seen some Ed Wood films, but in reality I haven't.

I've never seen an Ed Wood film, but I wanted thank Jim for the hard work he put into this over the last few months. I'm sure the threads will live on, as people continually update and expand their lists.

Same here.

Perhaps I should just give a rating for the film Ed Wood itself?! (Darn good movie)

thanks Marc

I've thought of doing these directors threads for a few years but there was just too many things going on in POLLS back then. Since it's been a relative ghost town in here the past six months or so I thought the time was ripe.

and of course thanks Stevo,

You've really added some life to this area, a major counterbalance to the snob-factor. :emoji_thumbsup: Though I did have to replace my keyboard a couple times over the past few months because of all the coffee I laughed up. ;)

Hmmm. Phase 2.........is a definite possibility in a couple months, the fall maybe. First I want to enjoy the summer with my own she-who-must-be-obeyed and my little one, trying to sneak in a few flics along the way. :)

I own pretty much everything he ever did. With a few exceptions. There are a couple of AC Stephen films i'm still looking for.
