So, what's everybody doing this 4th of July weekend?
I'm setting off some fireworks at my gf's house, have a barbecue, and blow some fingers off.

Well that sucks.

Heading down south for a coupla days. Pretty excited about it actually, I haven't flown in a year. Glad to be somewhere further than a 5 hours drive, which was the extent of my travels in a year.

All my expat friends are going to be out of town, so I figure that since my parents will be in town from the US, we'll grill a pork loin, drink some beer, and maybe locate a fireworks stand...I hear 'em everyday, they gotta sell them somewhere. No pretty colors, just a big bang.

Four day weekend. Woo-hoo! Gonna scrub the patio furniture, clean out the garage (are we having fun yet?), friends coming for a cookout, and maybe go up to Santa Barbara for the day.

Going up to my brother's house to camp in his yard. Apparently one of his neighbors is a firework enthusiast and orders a huge crate from China. I'm told this guy does a show that's better than most community displays.

Going tubing and going to a friend's wedding. Should be fun! Then some fireworks and hopefully burgers and beer on the 4th. I love summer long weekends!

I took today off to have a four day weekend down at a friends house in DeSoto filled with BBQ, liquor & explosives (together, with myself and five buds, I believe we have around $2000 in fireworks.......oy!)
........can't wait! :D :emoji_thumbsup:

I may head up to my mother's new house for a cookout, but then again, might not. My father and his wife and two of my three brothers are out of town, so it won't be much of a family get-together as usual.

Regardless, I'll be back here for the Pops & fireworks on the actual night of the Fourth. Boston does a pretty impressive job of blowing stuff up for the holiday. :)

Yes, one of the things Boston is far and away better at than New York (besides baseball:D) is our 4th Pops concert and fireworks. Was in NY for the 4th one year and it was pretty lame. Nothing like the times I spent on my buddy's Beacon Hill apartment roof, with a great view overlooking the Esplanade.

Not sure about electronics, but if they're anything like the DVD ads, prepare to be disappointed. There's always Circuit City...

Yeah, that must be why the NYC fireworks are broadcast accross the nation.

The Pops concert and fireworks are as well, both radio and TV. I have friends from NY that have been to both and they both say the Boston ones are far and away the best. Add in the world class Pops inside a riverside hatch shell and it is no contest.

Getting kinda dragged to a picnic tomorrow (I plan to eat my fill and leave as quickly as is polite) then just working around the house - yard work :frowning:, setting up a secondary surround system :), then city fireworks viewing on the holiday. Probably go see War of the Worlds too.
