Own: 0 (Might buy Orfevres one of these days. I did receive an email saying I won 2 million Euros in a Swedish lottery, so if that comes through I'll be doing some DVD shopping, right after I help the Nigerian ambassador recover his frozen oil assets by using my bank account. )

I have seen Chabrol's L'Enfer, didn't realize there was a previous Clouzot version so I looked it up on IMDB and found this:

"Director Henri-Georges Clouzot couldn't finish this movie. First main actor Serge Reggiani suffered from illness and Jean-Louis Trintignant got the role, but then Clouzot had a heart attack. The project was stopped. In 1992 Clouzot's widow sold the script to Claude Chabrol who made the movie as Enfer, L' (1994)."

I'd like to catch up with a few more Clouzots, namely MANON (1949), THE SPIES (1957) and THE TRUTH (1960).

As Brook said, we can never watch Clouzot's version of L'ENFER since he halted the film in mid-production after suffering a heart attack but Claude Chabrol did make a very good attempt at transposing his script onto the silver screen in 1993.
