Donald Trump proposes building a new improved World Trade Center instead of the Freedom Tower.

New York Post

Trump calls Freedom Tower 'disgusting' and a 'pile of junk'

From the New York Post link:

We took the original World Trade Center design, brought it into the modern age, made it more beautiful than ever before, made it one story taller, made it higher lined, and took out the architectural weaknesses that were there.

I like his design better. The new one looks too strange and wants to be the biggest in the world.

I have always supported rebuilding bigger and badder twin towers, mostly similar to the old ones.

AOL is running a survey on this.

The question being asked is "Which plan do you think is better?"

As of 7:40 PM CST Thursday the results are:

31% The Freedom Tower

My brother-in-law worked on the 100th floor in the Twin Towers. He is usually in his office by 8am. But, they had a business meeting the night before so he was in a few minutes late. When he was about to step into the elevator. The first plane hit the other tower. He never went up. Since he was head of his office. If he was up there he wouldn't have left until everyone was gone. His 2nd in charge was up there and didn't make it out. He saw it all and it really effected him. Even worse is that since he is in charge of the companies NY office. Only 2 days after it happened. He had to go into the city to find new offices. I will see my sister-in-law this Saturday. I am curious to see what he thinks.

I am personally for it.
Bring back John Doe! Or at least resolve the cliff-hanger with a 2hr movie or as an extra on a dvd release.

It was designed by an egghead architect who really doesn't have a lot of experience of designing something like this
and exactly how much experience does the non-celebrity donald trump have in designing buildings?

i used to think he was just self-centered and arrogant, now i realize he is also a fucking idiot. my new proposal is better than his. "CJ proposes that donald trump stays off tv forever".
And then when I feel so stuffed I can't eat anymore, I just use the restroom! And then I CAN eat more!

Of course we'll call it Trump World Trade Center!
This sure is a loaded subject. I've read again and again that buildings of this size are not real practical and they're tough on the surrounding neighborhoods.
WTC was considered an unimaginative eyesore by many. I like the look of the "twisting" replacement plan.
As far as the terrorists "winning" goes....I can't begin to list the changes that have occured in this world because of their perfect, and perfectly horrible plan, that cost only a few thousand dollars to complete.

I’m in favor of building a bigger and better World Trade Center. Regardless of my opinion of Donald Trump’s personality, I believe that his company can come through with the right design.

To me there’s a heartbreaking void where so many people lost their lives and the World Trade Center stood. Building a bigger and better trade center and an appropriate memorial to the victims just seems like the right thing to do.

I dunno...the thought of rebuilding the TT exactly the same strikes me as odd.

Then again, had the Statue of Liberty been destroyed instead, theres no doubt in my mind we would have rebuilt it exactly the same as the old one, without making it "sexier" and "with the times". Posted Image

Uhhhh, that's probably the one thing he does well. If he would have stayed out of the casino/airline/everything else business he'd be a lot richer these days. Granted I can't stand the guy's ego, and naming everything "Trump" is a little old, but he's signing the checks.

About the buildings, I'm not crazy about the "freedom tower" design, and I can't say I'm that impressed by the Trump design either (although I like it better). Personally I'd like to see something more modern, more NYC, more "powerful", etc. Something that really makes a statement.

The revised design for the Freedom Tower was unveiled today: link. I like it a lot better than the original.

Like maybe bigger boobs and pulling her skirt up ala It Happened One Night?

I vote REBUILD NOW then, why wait, and lets go ahead with that sexier version. Bring in Jolie to be the model for it. Posted Image

Except now every goddamn race in America is gonna want a piece of her. As in a "diverse" Lady Liberty.

I would never get rebuilt...

What businesses are going to move into a big huge target? Why not just build nondescript office buildings instead of another bullseye in the middle of NYC? Am I the only one sho sees the stupidity in this?
