MOTHER FUCKER!

The projector at my theater died with about 30-40 minutes to go. I waited in fucking line for 2.5 hours in addition to waiting for tickets a few weeks ago, and now I have to go to work in 4.5 hours.

Worst. Film. Experience. Ever.

I am absolutely speechless. I cannot believe this fucking happened to me.

Wow... that would suck royally. Out of all the films to go see and have the projector die, Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith would not be a good film for that.

One question I have, does Owen and Beru know what happened to Anakin?

Joe: All we have to go on is Owen telling Luke that "he died about the same time as your father". While we know that Owen knows more than he is telling Luke, he probably thinks Anakin is dead, and wants to forget Obi-wan existed. (He probably blames Obi-Wan for Luke not knowing his father or mother)

Matt, damn, I don't know what to say... my presentation went well but the volume was a bit low. I already can't wait for the DVD, cause except for the shared crowd experience there's not much theater's offer really, I've had a lot of "I'm getting too old for this lately!"

As for voting, I'm gonna see RotS a few more times first.

I'll toss in that it worked very well by accentuating stuff from the PT that needed it (Tusken slaughter, mother's death) and skipping the stuff that didn't (Sifo-Dyas).

Plus it adds a lot to ANH but does hurt a scene. I'll never buy Vader's reaction to seeing Obi-Wan again. Instead of the circle is complete, how about you left me burning alive you *#^$%#$#$%!

Force question of the day:

How is the force brought into balance at the end of episode 6?

At the end of ROTJ we are left with one Jedi knight - Luke and one force-sensitive - Leia.

That makes two for the light side and none for the dark.

Where or what are the offsetting components to counteract these light side aspects?

Good question, Lou. That raises the question of the meaning of the term "balance." Is it in terms of numbers? I'm not sure. If it is, then Anakin did bring balance to the force twice. At the end of ROTS, we are left with two Sith and two Jedi. At the end of ROTJ, we are left with one Sith (Vader/Anakin) and one Jedi (luke), although you could argue that since Vader dies, we are left with only one Jedi.

Does anyone have quotes they can post from Lucas in regards to this? I'm off to Google this topic.

Google really is your best friend. Here is a quote from Lucas:

The meaning of Balance of the Force: Let me explain briefly. If good and evil are mixed things become blurred - there is nothing between good and evil, everything is grey. In each of us we have balance these emotions, and in the Star Wars saga the most important point is balance, balance between everything. It is dangerous to lose this. In The Phantom Menace one of the Jedi Council already knows the balance of The Force is starting to slip, and will slip further. It is obvious to this person that The Sith are going to destroy this balance. On the other hand a prediction which is referred to states someone will replace the balance in the future. At the right time a balance may again be created, but presently it is being eroded by dark forces. All of this shall be explained in Episode 2, so I can't say any more!

Lou,

"Balance" doesn't necessarily mean an equal presence of good and evil. Were the Sith as numerous as the Jedi, they would likely overpower them, and plunge the universe into a violent dictatorship. That would not be "balanced". Balance can mean harmony, peace, stability, all of which are achieved when the Sith are finally defeated.

Interesting quote thanks Tom. Such a mental state would be very difficult to achieve and maintain.

The best long term solution would be for Luke and Leia to not use their Force powers and not train anyone else.

Matt:

I'm really sorry about that. I hope you can go see ROTS again today.

I'm not voting until I see ROTS again....it will end up anywhere from #1 to #3 but I need to see it again first. If the emotional impact remains the same, it will be #1.

yeah, hard to vote right after a screening. Too much swirling around in the mind...and heart.

I'll may need several more viewings before I can accurately give ROTS it's ranking destiny.

Trying not to look at any other posts...
I'm still very, very pissed off. I stopped by another theater at lunch and picked up a ticket for 6:45 tonight. Meanwhile, I'm very, very tired.
Bastards.
