Another I wouldn't put on a "great" director list, but this isn't my list and I do think highly of several of his films. I am interested in seeing Birdman of Alcatraz, Young Savages, and morbidly interested in The Island of Dr. Moreau.

After a spectecularly fruitful decade (1957-66), sadly everything seemed to go downhill for Frankenheimer, although he did recuperate some lost ground in the mid-70s and again in the late 90s.

I've got SEVEN DAYS IN MAY and FRENCH CONNECTION II to watch on DVD and I also need to upgrade my disc of THE MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE. Frankly some of the ones I've listed - GRAND PRIX, THE HORSEMEN, BLACK SUNDAY, THE FOURTH WAR - are merely a blur in my memory nowadays...

As for the rest of his films, I'm most interested in watching THE ICEMAN COMETH (1973), PROPHECY (1979) and 52 PICK UP (1986).
