Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed advertisements, the Sunday of the week of release (so as to catch any week-of-release sale prices). All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price. If a price is marked "$_N/A_" in the grid, it means that this title is not shown as available on that chain's website or perhaps in their ads...but it COULD still be in-stores!

$_"LP" means the advertisement says "Low Price", and $_"HP" means the advertisement says "Hot Price". Use of either of these in the Roundup grid indicates that I could not locate a definite price for the item, and the ad is all I have to go on. Retailers use these phrases in advertisements so that they do not violate MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) agreements with the studios. Doing so can cost them thousands or even millions of dollars in co-op advertising funds.

I only include the titles I feel like including (or the ones Dave tells me he's looking for ;o)). In fact, the titles are pretty much the ones I'm personally interested in, with few exceptions. I don't get paid for this, and I don't have time to devote to doing every DVD. So, please don't complain. If there is a title not included in the Roundup that you want to see, just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone...like Dave & I do!

Note that Circuit City does not guarantee their sale prices in Hawaii. Also note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the standard Roundup: they set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is not a way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. When it comes to Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices mentioned at all, just remember that "Your Mileage May Vary".

**BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL! Elektra AND Sideways are available in both OAR and MAR versions...get the correct one!

--Amazon is still featuring free shipping on orders over $25. Restrictions apply.

--The Amityville Horror Collection is being advertised as having a bonus on-pack movie ticket to The Amityville Horror in theaters 4/15/05. Up to $10.50 value. Minimum 6 per Best Buy store. No rainchecks.

And now a word from our sponsor….

If anyone who reads the RoundUp is not aware of this, running the HTF is not free for Parker and Ron. That is why there is advertising throughout the forum and there has been the occasional membership fund drive. I’m sure I don’t need to remind you folks of all the different reasons we benefit from keeping the USS HTF afloat. But, you might not be aware…THERE IS AN EASY WAY FOR YOU TO HELP!

According to Ron & Parker, many members enter the HTF through the index page or by clicking their own shortcut directly into a favorite forum. If members would simply link to the Portal Page when they start their visit to the HTF, that act alone would bring revenue to the forum. While it would also be nice if you wanted to click on some of the advertisers’ links and check out their deals and sales (that form of “window shopping” would bring even more revenue to the forum), the simple act of landing on the portal page registers a “hit” or “impression” that creates revenue for the HTF.

I was unaware of this until recently and have since changed my desktop shortcuts on the different computers I use to link to the Portal Page. I bet doing that over the past week or so has resulted in several dozen more “hits” from me alone. And, I thought I would pass along my newly-gained knowledge to anyone else who might not know the score.

So, if you want to help out, its easy…and will help keep the HTF in business.

Woo hoo, first!!

Sideways for me, definitely. The new Silverado set is nicely priced and I may pick that up as well.

Has anyone heard anything about the new Graduate?? Earlier this year I thought I had read that we were finally getting an anamorphic release of this classic, but haven't heard anything else about it.

Thanks as always, Mike.

And, no, Craig. I cannot find any information on this "new release" this week of The Graduate. ALL my sources list it as a "new" release, though. And it does NOT show up on any of the price drop lists. But, conversely, I can find NO information anywhere about a new DVD with a new transfer. A mystery...which I'm sure someone will explain to us both soon.

Re: The Graduate. It showed up on a list of new MGM SEs due this year, along with Raging Bull & Hoosiers, among others. Given the quality of those two, I had high hopes. But according to the thread in the Software: Films section, not only does it appear that MGM has dropped the extras from the previous release, this new disc may just be the same old non-anamorphic transfer!

I just don't understand MGM. They really have done some nice work, but then they go and pull crap like this.

I thought someone scanned the back cover of THE GRADUATE and it showed all the same extras, but it is unclear if it is 16x9-it was announced as that, and several websites have it listed as such also.

Thanks as usual Mike.

Light week for me - only The Graduate

and of course, only if it's a new & improved transfer. If not, then nothing this week.

I'll pick up Sideways and maybe The Professionals (depending on what I hear about the new features).

Patrick in the On Sale items at CC, it's Nightmare On Elm Street 2 (not the original). After the first one, they're all the same anyway:)

I will be picking up Sideways and maybe Silverado. I only own the original release of Silverado that was released in the wrong aspect ratio.

Thankfully, another slow week for me. I'll rent Sideways but nothing else really interests me. And it seems like the forum agrees, as this is only Post #11 at 11am Central time on Sunday! Maybe no one changed their clocks...

Forgive me if I missed it on the list somewhere, but HVE's MORE is supposedly streeting on April 5th as well.

Okay...here's the outcome of the story I started in last week's RoundUp re: CC and Finding Neverland.

As you may remember, my local CC gave me a rain check for FN after I had made the rounds of my local haunts looking for a copy and came up empty. (Their price was $14.99!) I was amazed that my local Target, Best Buy and CC were all sold out of WS copies of FN...and had just a handful of FF copies!

I got a phone call Wednesday from CC that they were holding a WS copy of FN for me. I went in Saturday to pick it up...figuring they probably would have dozens of WS copies of FN in stock. I went right to the DVD guy who got me my "held" copy...which customer service then did the price adjustment (from $22.99 to $14.99!!!). Howver, a thorough scan of the DVD section revealed there were still NO WS copies of Finding Neverland to be found at my local CC!

I swear...either this is the biggest selling DVD of all time or else its got the screwiest distribution of any big title I've seen in a long time.

If anyone can verify the content and transfer of the new Graduate, please do so!

I'll be posting a review of the new Silverado set in the next day or two. Frankly, I'm shocked at the low price!
