A WB Box suggestion (Or two) (1 Viewer)

Since WB is putting out so many Box sets lately, here is a another one. How about one with romance films. I nominate the following for starters:

- "Crossing Delancey"
- "Rich and Famous" (1981)
- "Humoresque"
- "A Little Romance" already released but throw it in

I didn't list any Bette Davis romantic films because they belong in my long awaited Bette Box!!

Possible titles:

-"Electric Dreams"
-"URGH! A Music War!" (I believe Warner has the rights to this title through the Lorimar library.)
-"Reckless"
-"Who's That Girl?"
-A widescreen re-issue of "True Stories"

It'll never ever happen but I'd love to see a Delmer Daves box set consisting of A Summer Place, Parrish, Susan Slade, Rome Adventure and Youngblood Hawke.

Does Warners own the '60s MGM musicals? Man, that is a great idea -- and don't forget MRS. BROWN YOU'VE GOT A LOVELY DAUGHTER. Who released SEA CRUISE with Freddie and the Dreamers?

I'd love a boxed set of CRIME DOES NOT PAY shorts. And a SUPERMAN/ATOM MAN VS. SUPERMAN serial box, lousy as the serials were, would be fun to see.

Laurence- yes, Warners owns everything from MGM prior to 1986 as part of the Turner holdings. I'd forgotten about the other Herman's Hermits film.

For the classic horror films I'd add some Hammer films along with the two Dark Shadows features (and praying that Warners restores Night of Dark Shadows to its 129-minute director's cut!).

I'm not up on the details, but this is, unfortunately, not true. For instance, they don't own the rights to 1963's It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World. :frowning:

Warner owns the MGM library prior to 1986 as was stated. They do not own the United Artist films that MGM/UA owned prior to its purchase by Ted Turner. When Turner sold MGM/UA
he kept only the MGM films/pre 48 Warner Bros/ and RKO films but sold United Artist films(James Bond / Mad World/Early Woody Allen, Rocky, Great Escape etc) with the rest of the company.
When Warner bought Turner they got the rights to the films Ted Turner kept.

M-G-M released a Laserdisc box with these films years ago:

"The Mask of Fu Manchu"

I won it on eBay. I'd buy the DVD box set you proposed in a NY minute!
