The Korean release is uncut like the Japanese release.

Got a link for that statement?

I've never heard that.

Take my word for it. The Korean R3 (currently available as the 4-Disc Scream Trilogy Box Set) has the same "director's cut" of the first film as the R2 Japanese DTS edition.

I've never heard of this DTS box set? When was it released? Was it a limited edition? I've never seen it listed on any Japanese retailer sites.

There is no DTS boxed set. There is a boxed set from Korea and none of the movies have DTS.

There are individual releases of both the first movie and the third in DTS in japan.

How about the single disc version as per the link on Post #1? Is it a DC?

If one is interested, www.thedvdetective.com has a listing for the dir.cut R3 anamorphic and dolby 5.1, but they are currently sold out.

I finally had a chance to purchase (and view) the R3 Korean dvd I linked to above. It is indeed the director's cut--transfer is decent, much better than the horrible looking laserdisc which I can now retire. It's worth it for those interested, much cheaper than the OOP (I think) Japanese release was.

Is it the same transfer? I own the original Japanese R2.

I'm sure I've said this before, so this feels a little like deja vu.

The French release of Scream in the uncut director's cut with DTS and Anamorphic.

Only certain DVD players can remove the French subtitles, that is the only drawback with this title.

Toshiba 2109b is one of those players.

A word of advice - the original uncut Japanese release of Scream switches to interlaced video for some of the edited scenes. I'm not sure if the others do this.

Does the Korean release, (boxset) have better PQ, or audio than the Japanese? I know it's not DTS, but are BOTH cuts on the DVD as well? Is the sound any less harsh.
Also, how does the R4 DTS sound? It'd be cool to get it uncut but not at the expense of sound quality..

Thanx! d

Oh well, I ordered the australian version. My FP can display PAL natively at 576P 50hz. so that coupled with the DTS should be pretty good. Too bad about the missing gore but it shouldn't affect the movie THAT much, IMHO. Especially since I've never seen it.

I've seen some complain about the audio on the R2J disc. I had no problem with it. It includes the Uncut and Cut version on the disc. It's also been repriced to just over $20. Recommended.

Is there anywhere else online to buy the unrated Korean version of Scream besides the first link? I see that it still is listed as out of stock there.

Are there any places that have the Japanese DTS version in stock? I have been using Google to try and find it for the past half hour or so and I'm not having much luck.

Don't think there ever was an R2J DTS version. The Aussie R4 disc is uncut and has DTS.
