I'm 2 for 2, I'm predicting a lot of love for both The Aviator and M$B (M$B to get the big awards, while The Aviator gets the technical stuff).

Posted Image GREAT Pepsi ad w/ Spartacus.
Three truths about movies, as noted by Roger Ebert:

* It's not what a movie is about, it's how it is about it.
* No good movie is too long, and no bad movie is short enough.
* No good movie is depressing, all bad movies are depressing.

I think Morgan Freeman's win comes from the "lifetime" sentiment for such a great actor who hadn't won one yet.

A few notes: -Was it me, or in that opening montage chronicalling the history of films did Mr. Lucas' films get a big snub? -Rock's monologue was GREAT. -I swear it brought tear to my eye to see Morgan Freeman recieve a LONG overdue award for his work, even though his supporting performance may not have been the best of the year. -Interesting choice to have Star Trek follow Morgan's speech. -I would have flipped if The Incredibles didn't win for beset animated.

For some reason I thought Brad Bird would have brown, curly hair. I was so off... Nice dress, Cate!
