Universal has released some early details on Casino: 10th Anniversary Edition which stars Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci, Sharon Stone, James Woods and Kevin Pollak. This Martin Scorsese directed film will be available to own from the 14th June this year, and should set you back around $22.98 in total. The film itself will be presented in 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen along with English, French and Spanish Dolby Digital 5.1 tracks. English, French and Spanish subtitles will also be provided. I'm afraid Universal has yet to reveal details on the extra material for this one, but we'll bring you the full announcement shortly.

Yup, I was just coming here to post this. Great news. I wonder if this will be a 2-disc set.

I have the original release, but I can't remember if it was anamorphic and I am not at home to check. My only reason for upgrading to this new edition would be for an anamorphic upgrade. Does anyone know off hand what the original release was?

Hrm, mine is anamorphic (R1).

I'm double-dipping this one! It's easily one of my all-time favorites...

Mine is anamorphic as well. It's Scorsese, so, I gotta get it, so it's double dip time for me. getting a lot closer to having all of Scorsese's movies getting a SE of some sort or another. Posted Image

The original Casino DVD is anamorphic, but it's very grainy and very soft.

It's hard to tell if it was intentional, though. However, there's a shot or two with vertical blue scratch lines and the opening Universal logo is filthy.

At last, Im there for this release.

Joe Pesci's performance is amazing. Some of the lines he comes out with are hilarious aswell. Can't wait.

I was trying to find this recently. DVD Answers says the film will be in 2.35:1 but I thought it was 1.85:1.

Gosh, all these great big-show Scorsese films coming to DVD with all the extras and then some!

Now all we need is nice new clean print of GOODFELLAS. Anyone recall GOODFELLAS?

GOODFELLAS?

Hey Travis-

The original DVD of Casino is anamorphic 2.35:1.

This is good news. I'll gladly double dip. Hopefully
there will be at least 1 commentary track, interviews
and possibly deleted scenes, if any exist.Posted Image

The French release is anamorphic, has a English DTS track and lovely digipacking. Sadly it has forced subtitles. Apart from that, that release is better than this one and it came out two years ago.

Lets pray that it's not another Heat 2-discer release, same transfer with not a ton of extras.

I will be holding onto my copy until I see the first, second, third and fourth reviews Posted Image
